I was recently diagnosed with a peanut allergy and it initially started off (several months ago) as a rash when exposed to peanuts or stuff processed with peanuts. Last week, I ate one bite of something processed with peanuts (but containing no nuts) and I ended up in the ER with a swollen throat and respiratory distress. Now I am totally freaked out. I know that I can manage to read labels ...

I took LO to the DR. because he has been having trouble digesting all baby foods except baby cereal. Dr. thinks LO may have food allergies, he developed a rash after eating carrots, and has watery BM's after baby food. We are " resting " his bowels for a week then introducing applesauce again, if the same thing happens he is going to go to a dr that deals with this type of thing. Hopefully ...

OH MY! Food allergies, and constipation So...I'm really hoping the mom that posted about her child's chronic constipation sees this thread. DS is 10.5, he's been constipated since he started solids (he was BF exclusively until age 1, he started eating table food a week after his birthday, his choice, he refused all foods to that ...

Does anyone have any experience with a baby with food allergies? This is my third child, but my first to have allergies of any kind. I stopped breast feeding him when he was about 2 months old after 6 weeks of trying to eliminate enough foods from my diet to suit him. In the end, we decided it was best to put him on a consistent, allergy free formula that wouldn't change from day to day. ...

hi, was wondering if anyone had any input ...whether fibro stems from a virus that lays dormant in the body for years and years and/or food allergies contributing to flare-ups. Thanks.

Here is an article about Food Allergies and kids: http://www.sphere.com/2009/11/16/why-are-food-alle rgies-on-the-rise-in-children/ I personnaly think that while they might not be scientific evidence, processed food is partially responsible for the increase in allergies. We have more and more food that comes with additive, modified substances, artifical flavouring and colors, that in my...

My son's daycare is supposed to be a peanut free zone due to the amount of kids they have had who are allergic to peanuts. Some parents still bring in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for their toddlers and preschool aged kids even though it is posted on the wall that they aren't supposed to bring that stuff in. (stating facts, not complaining) My 18 month old son is allergic to ...

Hi everyone! I just found out my 10-month-old son has multiple food allergies: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, and peanuts. And he has eczema. We went to see an allergist today because a few days ago he had a very bad allergic reaction to yogurt - ambulance took us to the hospital. I feel hopeless - i know i need to live with it, but it is a shock. Nobody in family, both sides, has any food allergies...

When my mom was flying home on November 28 she saw a news report on a recent study that said that dogs can help reduce food allergens by up to 90%. She was flying JetBlue so it was either CBS, one of the NBCs or Foxs. She was incredibly tired and can't remember any more details. And I can't seem to find anything about it online. Just wondering if any of you have also heard of that study/...

Hi everyone- I've never taken my 2 y/o daughter see a movie at the theater but hope to soon. She's moderately allergic to dairy, egg, and I think peanuts, so I would be concerned about her sitting and touching the seats. I read one suggestion online saying to bring a sheet/blanket to cover the seat and to wipe down the arm rests. I guess I'm also worried that smelling the buttery popcorn ...

Re: OH MY! Food allergies, and constipation Thanks Ladies! I've been reading about wheat allergies and I am SO CONFUSED! I don't know whether it's a true wheat allergy (which I've read is extremely rare) or if it's gluten (which I've now found out isn't *just* in wheat, argh) After much discussion between hubby and I, we aren't...

Hi jducour! I am so sorry to hear about the problems your LO is having! I saw at the end of your post that you seemed concerned about the cost of Neocate. So, I just wanted to write and let you know there are a lot of ways to get assistance with the cost of Neocate if that is what your pediatrician ultimately recommends. Neocate.com has a reimbursement section with hints and tips on how to get...

It's so easy once you know that you have a refluxer and an allergy baby to start assuming everything is a reaction or an allergy. What you are looking for is an over all picture. Yes, bananas and apples can be binding for anyone, that's not a big deal. A little eczema can be environmental. It's when many things start happening in combo that you start thing allergy/reaction. Example, Evangeline ...

Dominiquie-I posted the info below in my thread about the facial rash, but wanted to put it here in case you didn't go back to my thread. So, sorry if this is repeat! Dominique--Have you considered trying a new babywash also? I know it may not be the magic cure, but it might help. Jason used to have rough, dry, bumpy skin all over his body that also seemed sensitive. He would scream ...
