A nice 9 foot 5 weight 2 piece Reddington RedFly. I dont use this rod at all, but I have used it 2 times. Need to clear out some of my rods. The rod has a zippered nylon covered rod tube. Let this one go for $40.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and want to say hey and ask some advice. I was recently bequeathed a mid-1960's Orvis "99" 7'6" bamboo rod with a busted tip (between the tip and second guides). This rod has tremendous sentimental value to me and I would like to get it repaired. Do any of you do rod repair or have recommendations of rodmakers who've done good repair work for you? Thanks for the...

Hello all. I have never built a fly rod but have thought about building a 1 piece 4-6 weight 7' or 8' fiberglass general purpose rod for the truck. I have narrowed it down to a 4wt lami 7'6" 1 piece rod (fl 904-1). Do you guys have any other recommendations? I tie flies so I thought this would be a natural progression and fun project, especially if I could find a rod not being offered. I ...

I am looking for a blue fly rod blank for an auction rod (maybe I will even find an American Shad Decal sometime). I was hoping to avoid spending too much on the blank. I would like a bright blue if I can find one. From memory, my options are: Batson RX6 Ebay -- Blue translucent blank TFO TiCrX St. Croix, SC V, saltwater (not exactly low cost) Thomas and Thomas used to make a blue ...

That FF85-3 Freestoner mentioned is a 7weight rod. I've had one,and it really didn't seem to come alive with a 6 until there was lots of line out. And someone on this board mentioned the FF83 not so long ago. It was built for a 4 weight line. You might do a search....

Question for you fly swatters to stimulate some discussion.... Looked at some high end new Xi3 Sage Fly rods ( $700.00) this weekend (they are sweet, but spending big $$$, whew!!!) ... instead of taking the big $$$ dive on a new rod, I decided and purchased some good quality 9wt Rio fly line ($75.00)... What a HUGE difference this made on the casting on my St. Croix fly rod 8wt... ...
