For those looking for real-world shots with the new 70-200 lens, http://www.ecarlino.com/Gen3/FL_Keys_LifeIsGood/in dex.html I sold the vr1 version when i got the D3 2yrs ago - and i forgot how much i love that focal length range, especially on FF. I'm not a pro, but I don't have anything bad to say about the lens, Eric.

Spending a few weeks in Jupiter Fla during Jan/Feb. There is a bunch of group taking 1-2 hr rides through out the week that offer a northerner some great spinning. But I would like to get out and see some of florida on a longer trip. I am thinking of traveling down to the keys parking in the upper keys, ride down, camp, then ride back. ( If you want to car-camp, I think the closest place is Boyd's on Boca Chica Key or something like that. Yes, it's expensive. You may be able to get a city bus from there. There are lots of homeless people living on Stock Island, so as previously mentioned, that's possible. There is a sporadic bus that travels between Key West and Florida City for under $10. With 4 days and that budget, here's what I would do. Day 1 in Miami Beach . You won't be able to stay on the beach but you can get a room near the airport and drive over. Read about John Pennekamp park in Key Largo . Excellent snorkeling for the guys and if you don't want to ride along you can hang out at the beach. There is so much to learn about the keys. Settle down with a nice drink and read back through several months on TA keys forums. All questions will be answered!
