For once my Google-Fu has failed me and I don't really want to buy a scale and go weigh the flathead six I have in the garage. Does anyone know the general weights of the 218-230 and the larger 250-264 flathead engine families? I was just curious how much they weighed in comparison to more modern engines. Thanks in advance!

In my search for valves for an 8BA Flathead I've been looking to see if there are alternatives to the expensive aftermarket "Flathead" valves. I've heard talk of some using SBC Valves but they must be cutting them because of their length. Then of course you loose that hardened end. Anyway this is the info I have for stock Flathead valves Head Diameter: 1.500" Stem Diameter: 11/32" Valve ...

Poor G has the flathead. It's not that bad but I feel it and his poor head is kind of slanted. Anyone have experience with this? I am shifting his posititons and having him sit up more.

My dad is building a 1949-50 Ford F1 with a flathead V8 and needs some parts. The engine was "freshly rebuilt" just before he got his mitts on it, but apparently if you don't have matched rod and rod ends the crank gets a nice pretty groove machined into it. Who knew? Anyway, he has a new crank, rods and over size pistons (.060" over), but he needs bearings, rings and gaskets. Looking online nets...

I am investigating the possibilities for flyfishing for Flatheads. I know that it is not a common type of prey that a flyfisherman does but I can not resist the fact that they feed off of live bait like bluegills and shad. I am also aware of they are bottom feeders. What I plan on doing is fishing for them at night from my U12 Valco and using a 13wt rod with a wet tip line that sinks down to 16'....

Just took my bumper off and I can honestly say the hardest part was getting out those damn plastic rivets/fasteners. I used 2 flathead drivers and pulled like hell. Broke about 3 of them, cut my hand, and generally swore like crazy for 20min. I got it done in the end but there has to be an easier way. Anyone use some kind of pop rivet puller? what brand/where to get etc? Thanks

Quote: Thanksgiving may be an American holiday, but Black Friday sure seems to be international as one Canadian group's presence in the Flathead helps to carry the big shopping day. "There's rules: No men, no children, no limits". That's the philosophy of a Canadian group called Shop 'Til Ya Drop. Every Black Friday they drive south to into the Flathead for a weekend of ...

Wanted to know if anybody has some suggestions about a rear axle to put into my 46 ford super deluxe. It has the original flathead for now, but will be upgraded after it bites the dust. I was told to find a 9in rear end. The rear suspension is going to be upgraded to a POSIES SUPER SLIDE ADJUSTABLE REAR SPRING KITS- BOLT-IN or a weeder rear suspension, not sure yet. I want to be able to put ...

Anybody know what the recommended service interval is for Zeagle regs? Is there a general guideline or does it vary by reg? Most specifically, what is the interval for the Flathead IV and the Envoy deluxe?

My baby was diagnosed with torticollis, so he has a flat head too. He has physical therapy to prevent it from getting worse. ALso we have to take him to a doc and get a special pillow (not the one like on amazon which was also recommended) I am freaked out that it will never reshape. :( I just hope for the best and that P.T. works its magic so he'll start being able to turn his head
