--NY Times ADAMS TOWNSHIP, Pa. It is safe to say that last week was the first time the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania had ever filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a pole dancing instructor. But Witold J. Walczak, the organizations legal director, said the issues involved were common to many of its cases. Why is the A.C.L.U. here? Mr. Walczak asked. The ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_speech_zones WTF, this is the first I've ever heard of these. Aren't these kind of defeating the point of free speech? Free speech zones (also known as First Amendment Zones, Free speech cages, and Protest zones) are areas set aside in public places for political activists to exercise their right of free speech in the United States. The First ...

Interestingly enough, for a party that feels that the First Amendment covers a variety of "interesting" topics, the Obama campaign is seeking to have the disclosure between the Obamessiah and the terrorist, Wm Ayers relationship subject to criminal investigation .

More records were being blocked. I can only see one reason for blocking records, and that is to hide something. Don't the realize that imaginations may be worse than the real thing. How bad could they be???? Hiding things never looks good, but after the experience with reverend Wright I suppose his friendship with Ayers could be likewise damaging. What a bunch of friends he has. ...

We noted Barack Obama's effort to drum up a criminal prosecution of those who disagree with him politically. The prospect of such a man in control of the Department of Justice is sobering, to say the least. Another instance of the Democrats' effort to suppress inconvenient First Amendment rights occurred in Denver today, when policemen arrested an ABC newsman, Asa Eslocker, whose ...

So the government can control all television networks, all movie producers, etc. That sounds like a much better society. The SCOTUS has ruled time and again that "freedom of speech" applies to expression, rather than mere speech. Choosing to express yourself visually rather than verbally does not forfeit your protection of the first ammendment, nor should it.

i>Why did the Hotel sign a complaint if Obama's people didn't tell them to do so? Why should they object to news people being on the street in front of the hotel? Gee, I don't know -- Maybe hotel guests were having trouble getting into and out of the hotel? (Sometimes the simple answer is the right answer.) But John Chancellor (NBC) was arrested at the 1964 Republican Convention; ...

>> *Yawn* I agree. Obama stands for change, yet here they are using the same old tired tactics as Jesse Jackson. At least Jesse Jackson went after corporations with money and got his son a lucrative liquor distributorship. The Tribune Company is nearly bankrupt, what's can Obama get from them for his daughter, a paper route?

Quote: Obama supporters risibly complain that shining a light on the Obama/Ayers relationship is a smear and smacks of guilt by association. Why get rid of Wright? Why demand Hagee be renounced? Succumbing to "smear" tactics?
