With the (post-rebate post-Bing cashback) price of a K-7 + 18-55WR kit dropping below 1k USD, I finally pulled the trigger on the K-7. I'm upgrading from my trusty K100D and was somewhat worried about taking a step back on noise at ISO 800+ given the mixed opinions/reviews. Received the camera on Thursday, charged it up and I've had a go at it the last two days. FIRST IMPRESSIONS (1) ...

Hi, I currently using a PC but my sister using MACs since more than 20 years. She just got her new 27" i5 MAC and I visited her to test it with LR as I want to change to a i7 MAC. I took 1.000 images on a USB harddrive with me. I downloaded LR from the Adobe site and then imported the 1.000 images into LR. First impressions: very good and fast but not blazing fast. I was suprised I expected ...

Well...... the lens came in Thursday and by the time I got home, got past the have to do to the want to do, it was dark. Suffered thrtough an all day meeting Friday and again, dark when I got home. Finally, Saturday morning and it is overcast and raining but I did get a couple off between the rains this AM from the balcony. This is at 300MM ... with a distortion correction and peripheral ...

well, last Sunday was my first day ever in Paris , arriving at the GduN on Sunday early afternoon from the Eurostar. Busy place GdN, not dissimilar to many central termini at any major European city, and hence, IMO, its not a very nice place to be for the faint hearted, or non-street-wise visitor! - but why? well its very busy - obviously! but there are a lot of what might be termed ...

In this thread , I talked about ordering the Marmot Alpinist from Backcountry Gear in the U.S. Well, it shipped on Monday and arrived today, just 5 days later. First impression is that it's bigger and heavier than my summer tent, the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 2. But as a winter/mountaineering tent, that was to be expected. Setup was extremely easy. Just two main poles which cross over the ...

So I'll spend a couple more days with this lens, but first impressions do not match the hype.... I bought this for 'fixed' shots and maybe some portraits but it seems not enough, or at least not $1229 so far. Okay, the lens is listed in various places close to God or at least the next coming, so being short of that can still be very good... but- build is not what I expected, I have a 50mm ...

Ive played it for a little bit so far and i think its a medicore game for now. The runaway sequence killed it for me. Sometime you'll be running around in circles until you pull up the map and get jumped on by the monsters. Speaking of the monsters suck seeing as there is only one kind and the chase sequence are not scary at all. Ive experienced quite alot of audio glitches where I would lose all...

I've got the invitation a few days ago and I found that Google Wave is a great innovation from Google. It make everything easier for us, and I hope Google Wave will be better in the future. For now using Google Wave is only base on the invitation, not everyone can enjoy it even your friend send the link. But I still believe that Google will make the ...
A friend of mine is letting me drive her Soul for the day, so I thought I'd share some first impressions. I'll get the bad out of the way first. Being the price it is, I know this isn't going to be a dash strokers dream, but I was really surprised at the steering wheel. It just feels very cheap, it's sturdy, but the hard plastic, is, well, very hard. She has the Sport with all the options and ...

I took the advice I saw in the launcher client and started a character on Firefoot. That seems to be a mistake, since the server seemed entirely empty, and I later learned that firefoot has a low population and only one kinship on the listing thread. Why did Turbine deceive new players by putting them on servers that are the nearly empty? If I subscribe, I'll have to lose several hours rolling a ...

Re-post from A6 section: I got the car back yesterday after two grueling weeks. I went w/ PJ K04's piped in with Vast/ARD Inlets. I also added the RS4 Clutch and Pressure Plate along w/ 034 street density engine and trans mounts. I also did the 034 snub mount. I am running GIAC stage 3- software w/ a crushed 4 bar fpr. I am picking up a Bosch Motorsports "true" 5 bar ...

Since I mostly post here when I have problems, I thought I'd post something about my car running very well. I've been chasing the boost leak troll for awhile and I have finally caught all the little fvckers. So, I took my mom for a ride tonight and let her drive for a while. I only did some hard pulls up to 4th gear and one launch. Many expletives were used and long story ...

I finally got around to installing the RS4 rear sway bar today with the help of a friend. Let me just say that the understeer that was inherent in the stock rear sway bar is now virtually gone! The car turns in much nicer and if pushed hard, you can get the tail end to slide out. Quite fun. I encountered one slight problem during the install...the rubber grommets that...
