Is it possible and if so how would one go about replacing the steel in a custom firesteel handle? I don't own one myself so I have no idea if they are glued or just a friction fit.

These are "Faux Mountain Men" though. They dress like this, but they probably couldn't start a fire with even a firesteel, or put up a tent, or clean even a fish. And that flannel has never seen underbrush, it usually has a LL Bean label, and no way are gonna let it get roughed up out in the woods! I see them around seattle all the time.
