The recent consultation session held at the end of November by BC Ferries in Prince Rupert hasn't been particularly endorsed by the locals, as the feedback from participants is that the session wasn't so much a consultation as it was a sermon it seems. The Northern View has provided a very revealing review of that session which was described by Tourism Prince Rupert executive director...

We are planning to spend 4 weeks in Sicily in 2010 in September and thought we might visit Malta for a few days. Can anyone tell me if there are ferries and where in Sicily they leave from and where in Malta they arrive. We are in our 60's and would just like to experience a few days in Malta to see if we wish to return. We love exploring cities, little side streets, ...

High Cost of Travel on BC Ferries Blame the high cost of travelling to the Gulf Islands on the Islands Trust, not B.C. Ferries, a corporation official says. Islands Trust land-use policies are creating a scarcity of developable land, driving real estate prices up, pushing out young people and replacing them with retirees who travel less, said Rob Clarke, chief financial officer for B.C. ...

As previously stated I had talked to AMS about the technology being implemented into the Marine Industry and was told their focus was on Aviation only. With the number of freighters and prescious cargo, cruise ships, ferries etc. this is a huge market . It will be interesting to see how L3 taps into this. I would imagine fuel costs for the Marine Industry must be of huge concern as well as to ...

My husband still talks about the major traffic gridlocks/jams he was in going to and from work, and I also, travelling throughout the day, going here and there, when we lived on the mainland. Now we whine about our 'tiny' little traffic jams we have here in courtenay, then laugh about it. It would be sad to see that sort of thing come to the island, there is plenty of room on ...

Thanks everyone, If I fly Malta to Rome I would not even consider a stop anywhere. But in fact it could be a lot cheaper to fly back to Sicily and then continue the holiday and then fly from there to Rome. About 70/80 euro less, or more. If we do Malta in the middle, then back to Sicily and then Taormina and then Rome from Catania. Lots more ...
