The birds are very hungry and cant find nothing to eat. I feed them left overs and all kinds of things. I have a packet of meusli we dont like, so I put some of that in a bowl and added water to it. I then added chopped apple, some chopped fat and some left over tuna It looked Yucky but the birds loved it. Tomorrow they are getting meusli, left over mincemeat and some left over sausage. If ...

Just been looking and tonight and during the week we have overnight and morning tempratures of minus 7 forecast [and we are in an industrial town]. So think of those poor birds tomorrow when you wake and put some food out for them even fruit and raisins/sultanas or a bit of cake if you have no bird food. If you do make sure the feeders are topped up....this morning it has been non stop here ...

I see there is alot of blizzards and snow throught out the U. S. Animals are hungry. Just like humans, some get sick, and it is hard for them to have to hunt for food. Make their struggles easier. Put out bird seed for the birds. All good sanitary human food you do not eat, instead of discarding--place it in a nice bowl outside. You will feed ...

Especially if you live in these areas where you got or get a lot of snow. Our little finches just come in a flock and eat and drink quite a few times a day, along with the Eurasian doves, and anyone else who needs it. I put food out on the ground too, several times a day for them. Then we have Squirrelletta, and her babies, three of them, that have their nest up high in a tree. They have...

In todays Sunday Post paper,a pensioner in Scotland has been told by his council they will take action against him if he continues to feed birds in his garden. He puts 4 biscuits on a bird table each morning to feed house sparrows, and it is quickly eaten. Somebody local has reported him,and the council say he is causing disease from the birds and inviting rats. The RSPB says it is draconian,and...

Something I've found goes down really well with my customers are suet blocks - they are put out in little cages and the birdies go wild for them! (Especially in winter when they need them for extra body heat). We have two out most of the time and I have customers who buy a lot from me, as well as seed. You can get all different flavours suet blocks - insect, peanut, apple, berry Spoilt ...

I used to feed the birds, but he bird feeder just turned into a neighborhood cat feeder. Birds would scatter seed all over so then a bunch would land on the ground to eat. My cats especially thought I was being nice to them. Was in the winter so I could not stop feeding them until summer so I had to take chicken wire and build a large fence around the feeder to keep the cats from eating the ...
