I have these left over from a suspension overhaul two years ago. They are new in the box and include new fasteners. Bought the complete control arm kit for $500 but only used the upper control arms and fasteners. From what I've been told the Febi-Bilstein brand is one of the better after-market parts manufacturers. 1 - Control Arm - Lower Left Rear Nr21196 - Replaces: 8E0 407 693 Q 1 - Control ...

Greetings, If the wrong fasteners (common drywall screws) were used in treated lumber (post 2003 formula) what is the life expectancy of the fasteners? How long before they may corrode and fail? Thank you for your time. PS: Answers such as "replace them" or "add to them with correct fasteners" are not helpful. Answers such as 1234 years are helpful.

Air Filter Box - broken fasteners hi all, just snapped the 2nd (of 4) fasteners on the air filter box on my '95. Has anyone else run into this? Before I repair/replace it, did any other years use a clip-style or something a little better than the long, thin, rust-prone screws that mine came with? Thanks Greg

Can anyone tell me the part number of the plastic fasteners used within the engine compartment to hold together all the plastic parts? Seems like every single one is broken... Thanks, Chris

I'm preparing to build an ash toboggan. Having never seen an original one (as a child of the 80s), can anyone direct me on how to best attach the cross braces to the strips? From the few pictures that show fasteners on the internet, it appears that most use philips screws from the bottom (snow side) through into the braces. I hate philips screws. I'm wondering if it'd be a terrible idea to use ...

Harbor Freight Hardware / Fasteners Has anyone used their finish nails / staples? I am about out of my current supply and I am making a trip to the town with the closest HF (90 miles). Are they ok or plain junk? Thanks, Justin.

Thought it might be useful for folks to put up details of interesting and useful fasteners that they are aware of from oem manufacturers - not stuff like regular nuts and bolts that can be obtained anywhere, but particularly useful stuff thats not run of the mill. Part number, manufacturer, price, dimensions and a photo would be useful. I'll start Hex-headed screw bolt with a ...

Remove all Advertisements I changed my clutch basket 2 months ago. I used the old clutch cushion even though they were in bad shape. Now my clutch is acting weird and I want to change the cushions but I can't get the fasteners out. I used the red lock tight. I bent 2 allen keys and broke 1 easy out bit trying to remove them. I was only able to get 1 ...

I had my bike in last week (warranty work) and today I was doing a little maintenance work (adjust/clean/lube head stock bearings) at home. I had heard a little ratcheting noise last week and poked around and found that my rear brake caliper bolts were really loose. Wierd, but I figured, stuff happens and took the opportunity to service my brakes. Today during my headstock service, I ...

Believe it or not the lock nuts have flown off because of the dumb design on this OEM catalytic converter, there's no length to the studs. Now the question is, those 3 studs, if they are even studs, they could be some OEM type cap screw welded into the CAT, can I remove those and put in new M10 studs? Longer Ones? I need to be very careful trying to grip those and pull them out, don't...

Getting ready to fix a nagging oil leak I've had for some time now. Narrowed it down to the rear seal. I'll have to drop the tranny and pull the clutch and flywheel. I plan on replacing the clutch since I'll already be there with one of those Luk OEM setups off Ebay. It looks like the thing to do after looking at some other threads. Do I need to replace the flywheel bolts for reinstalling it?...

Greetings; I've got a 2002 Audi A6 front drive with the Tiptronic. Recently I had some exhaust work done at a local independent German car auto shop. The repair was successful but today I changed the engine oil. Of course to change the oil you have to remove the plastic under engine tray which is normally held by 3 Dzus (1/4 turn) fasteners at the back and 3 of those fasteners at ...

Getting into the TB replacement on my 2003 Passat today. When I get to the "remove the upper outer fasteners from the bumper shock brackets on each side of the vehicle" I find there is no bolt in this position on the drivers side, only on the passenger side. I know this is the first TB replacement on this car and looking closely there are no signs of a bolt ever being in place there. Anyone else ...

There have been numerous threads regarding applications of large wrench (and socket) sizes. What are some applications for small (< 10mm) wrenches? In my experience, most small fasteners readily accommodate sockets, and often demand them (or a deep offset box, I suppose) due to clearance issues. I ask partially because I'm just curious, and partially because I'm trying to decide if I ...

hi everyone i just fabricated an underbody panel out of aluminum and wanted to share some pics. the job was a little time consuming but not very difficult. the best part is it was practically free aside from some fasteners. i got the aluminum from work and made a template out of cardboard. i made brackets that attach to the frame out of aluminum ...

You should simply remove the two 13mm fasteners (wrench/socket size) and lift off the hold-down. Make sure the vent hose is disconnected, and just lift it out. Should be no harder than that if it is a stock set-up. Hope this helps, GP@PPG
