My state doesn't imposed the burden of a FOID, so I know very little about them. I was wondering, if I went to a state that required its residents to obtain a FOID card to purchase firearms and ammo, would I be able to buy a firearm, or ammo, if all I had to show was a driver's license showing my state of residence? (Assuming that there was a reciprocity agreement between my state and that state,...

If i pleaded guilty to a non violent felony could i get my FOID card back....they gave me a 12 month discharge witch means i cant get in trouble for 1yr and they will drop it to a misdemeanor. Now that i dont have a felony and i now have a misdemeanor could i get it back. Answer This is a Second Amendment topic and you're asking a Criminal Justice question. Why is that? You were convicted...

What do you guys recommend (make/model) to begin with, my 21st bday is just around the corner, I got my FOID, and I want to pick up a handgun. I'm thinking of a 9mm or .22, anything in specific you guys would recommend?

This transacton is just not worth the risk or potential risk to you. Pass. I would either offer to pay him what he put out for the weapon, or hold it until he obtained his FOID card. If he has come out and said that he would have someone else do the transfer then definetly pass. 30 bucks just ain't worth the time in court, or at an 'inverview' table with the BAT man.

yeah, rimfire. IL is the only state with a FOID card. Kind of sucks. You're not allowed to carry at all unless unloaded and in a case. Handguns and/or long guns don't matter. We are one of least friendly carry states around!

And a FOID takes like 6-8 weeks to arrive after you mail in your information...Ugh. BTW I live in Elmhurst, but I don't have any DW's yet. I will be buying a 2010 Valor methinks. I'll have enough money by then, and the only thing blocking my way is my intense love of revolvers and 10mm chambered firearms (may get a Razorback 10mm or Pointman in 10mm instead of Valor). If only DW ...

Quote: I guess the question is whether New Jersey could charge an out state resident for shipping a C&B pistol to a New Jersey resident through the mail. If an arrest warrant were issued, then the seller may need to stay out of New Jersey to avoid facing the charges. And if a warrant was pending in a state, then what does that do to a firearm owner's otherwise clean...
