This is a slightly shameful admission. I've never tried a fig. Apparently my daughter absolutely loves them, though, and the old-school grocer round the corner from my office was raving about the ripe figs he's got in at the moment. So I bought a couple. This is how ignorant I am, though - how does one eat a fig? I know lots of people cook them, but can you eat them raw?

I'm curious about this one. I'm a Sci-Fi Gamer myself and don't have much use for historical stuff. Hence, I'm chomping at the bit for the greatcoats. In the meantime however, I've been inspired to try something with the existing WF figs. I've got some celts and Colonial British on the way in a trade and I'm going to modify them for use in my far-future, post-apoc, wasteland world setting....

Stopped by Royal Crown Bakery (the 14th Ave nr 66th St store) this weekend and glory be, they are making the baked figs again this year.
