I have been thinking about setting up shop to restore antique shotguns. I understand a type 1 FFL is required to do any gunsmithing. What are the ups and downs of having an FFL? Can you actually get an FFL for a repair shop that is in your residence? I do not intend to set up a store and sell. This would be repairs and restorations only.

I'll call around tomorrow, but in the mean time... are there any FFL dealers in the SF bay area that will accept a long gun from an out of state individual (non FFL)? Prefer east bay (Fremont down to San Jose) I'm looking at a few rifles on gunbroker and would like to know. Thanks, Tom

Hello, I am wanting to purchase a rifle from J&G sales online. They say i need to have the transfer done by an FFL. > Please correct me if I am wrong...but I thought it was illegal to ship a handgun through the US Postal Office? I bought a Beretta off the auction side from a non-ffl....he shipped the gun through the US Postal Service using express to my FFL... I was thinking that was illegal. I don't think this is his first time, he has sold a bunch of guns on GB. I just sent...

Sig is replacing a gun with new one. I forgot to ask about costs and don't want to call back. Am I going to be charged by my dealer or is Sig going to take care of that? It sure would add insult to injury if I get whacked cash again!

I just received my (ex) twin cbob yesterday. When I went to my FFL dealer to do the transfer I saw three of these "needle pin holes" on the gun. One of them was really annoying because it was on the flat polished area of the frame. I called the seller and he told me the gun was sold to him as NIB. He did all he could to take care of me, he even accepted to receive the gun back taking full ...
