Hi, i'm in need of my hard drive & usb flash drive numbers, but when i do fdisk -l i get no results - it just gives me the prompt as if i've pressed the enter key on my k/board. Pls help.

Hello all, Yesterday I bought a Seagte 500 GB SATA HDD and then i connected it to my system and put the win xp bootable CD where i got the cd drive prompt and there I typed FDISK and there it is showing only 18GB+ when i select the option create DOS Partition or Logical DOS Drive and then after selcting Create Primary DOS Partion. Any help !

At boot on 2010.0 what creates the special devices for disk partitions, like /dev/sdb6? I'm working on a new disk, a 1TB Westerb Digital (WD10EARS, yes, this is the one with 4096 byte physical blocks) and these devices are created when fdisk writes the partition table, but they are not created again at reboot. So 2010.0 CAN create them, it just doesn't at reboot. No warnings ...

We've got one of those fancy, modern digital cameras and it's great for taking pictures, but I'd love to back those pictures up, too. When I connect the camera via its USB cable to my computer, the OS just doesn't "see" the camera/connection. Nothing shows up in fdisk -l .
