You all know how important it is to look people in the eyes when you meet them. This situation is no different. I think in her case it's because she's squinting!! Yupp! I'm sure it's the squinting!

An observant and interesting article. But I personally am very ambivalent about this whole "eye-contact" thing....I have lived in too many major cities of the world where eye contact with people, constantly, is both tiresome and impractical. What do you think? http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/12/18/compl aint-box-eye-contact /?hp DECEMBER 18, 2009, 12:08 PM Complaint Box | Eye ...

My DS (4.5 months) will look me in the eye, smile and coo when he's laying on his back or sitting in his bouncy chair, but he HATES looking me in the eye up close, like when I'm holding him in my lap, facing me. In fact, he will literally turn his head to avoid it. He also doesn't like looking at me while feeding although occasionally he'll catch my eye and give me a little smile (mostly in the ...

My almost-3-wk-old usually stares straight ahead while nursing (unless he has his eyes closed). Is this normal? When will he have more eye contact during nursing - I know this is important for both bonding and brain development. I usually do the crossover hold. In the hospital, I was doing more of the football hold and felt like he could look up at me more, but the crossover is ...

Eye drops for contact lens wearers? I have these eye drops (renew multi-plus) and I think they're meant specifially to moisturize the eye when the contacts are IN the eye ... My question is: can I use the eye drops in my eye to moisturize and soothe them without the contacts? Or is that dangerous or bad? ONE eye feels kind of itchy and irritated today but I have to go out later so will need...

I bought this new Shiseido eye cream, that some of you girls recommended here. Well since I been using it, my contact lenses are really bothering me.. I had to actually open a new pack of contacts because they were so bad. ( the contacts I had to throw out weren't even expired yet ) Anyone else have this happen to them? I really liked the eye cream , Do you think maybe I should ...

good ideas follow good questions...from jargan's comment to mea70, i notice something...why is there only one topic on this forum about eye contact problems the way we have? the topic is almost 4 years old... does it have a simple explanation. google search land newcomers on this topic directly...but how about older ones? group identity? feeling of uniqueness? fear of...

Ah honey he is just learning what he is okay with and not! My Sophie is a "high-needs" child- super sensitive, highly intelligent, severe serpeation adn baby anxiety- high needs! She doesn't "hold or hug" me or snuggle unless she's tired, adn doesn't look people in the eye close up as well..... what we do is let her know that that is her own space, adn I turn her from people too. She doesn't ...

Your cat invented a time out corner, and my cat invented "but MOM!!!" If I try to get him to stop doing something he knows he shouldn't be doing in the first place, he meows pitifully and backs away just a couple inches hoping that's good enough. My loud "EH" sounds used to strike fear in his tiny heart. Now he's "but MOM!!!"ing me all the time. I think maybe yours is a bit more polite!
