Here are 4 images from a recent trip to Wales, all are HDR from three exposures. One correct, one 2 stops over and one 2 stops under. HDR process in Photomatix, then fine tuned in CS4. Patrick

I'm trying to duplicate the long exposures I usually take pretty easily with film SLR's. I enjoy doing cityscapes with 30sec-2 minute exposure times (and occasionally more to achieve intentional reciprocity failure). I still use a Minolta SRT 201 w/24mm @ 100ASA that I've had for over 25 yrs. I get terrible-no results with the D90 with its bulb settings. Am I missing something or do I ...

Hi, Just wondering why Canon doesn't offer multiple exposures on the digitals. Any rumors saying they are going to do that soon? Seems to me that it would just be a software design. Thanks. And yes, I'm talking about multiples on one 'frame', not exposure bracketing. Adam

All, I was trying out a technique demonstrated in the video 20080828_Exposures. I am using PSE8 and this example was in a much earlier version. In the video, the photo was opened in the full edit mode and since it was a RAW file, it opened in Camera Raw first. After is was adjusted it was opened in the full edit mode. Next the procedure was to go to the File drop down and choose "Open Previously...

Troops: I ran across a report on over-exposures which is a matter to our advantage in the long run. The prelim report showed an exposure range for the same diagnostic purpose, depending on the hospital, doctor and radiologist, of a range from lowest to highest of 13 fold. Some overexposures resulted from taking three exposures of a thing to make diagnosing easier when one exposure was giving the ...

I'm trying to use a Canon 7D for star trails and keep getting a gap between exposures. i.e this image is a full sized cropped from the centre of the frame I've run some tests suggested by a user on Flickr BUT I'm getting constant 2.6 second gaps between each 30 second exposure and I've run out of ideas to remove the problem. Details 7D set for 30sec exposures, manual focus, manual...

Does anyone have any tips or techniques to getting successful multiple-exposures in a picture? I will definitely be playing around with my camera so I will find out mostly from trial and error, but any other help would be much appreciated. I got the Holga FN.

It appears that most timed exposures are done at night. Is that right? Can you shoot them during the day? How do you prevent overexposures? These are just a few of the questions I need to get a grip on before I give it a shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Joe

I've been taking star trails for a while now and had been suffering with what appears to be a camera limitation. Hadn't thought to see if one of you Canonians might have an answer to my quandary. Here it goes: The 40D, 50D and 7D will all shoot at a rate of up to 6.5 frames per SECOND... but if you set the camera to M mode at say, 10 second exposures it actually takes 11.6...

I have had odd (over)exposure problems with my G11. Flat lighting on foliage (trees mostly) with mostly midtones and 3/4 tones have washed out. Only saved images in Raw correction. (I did have similar issues w/my D-Lux3) I suspect it is a combination of pilot error and the limits of the sensor. Also, if I shoot cloudscapes, they are often washed out. I NEVER have these issues with my Canon 5d. I...

The E-30 is crammed full of features I haven't gotten around to trying yet. So in a weak moment, I set up the tripod next to the Christmas Tree and tried a multiple exposure shot. Well, to be honest, first I had to sit down and read the manual a couple of times just to figure it out. Here is my first attempt in which I only varied the focus (manually of course). I first focused on one of the...

Hey everyone, I am trying to shoot some photos to compose HDR images using high speed bracketing. I know about the option with my Canon Rebel XS and how to activate it, adjust the exposure increments, etc. My question is, how do I find those multiple exposures when uploading. Currently I just go SD Card -> iPhoto. So when I upload a RAW file, I only get the RAW. Do I need ...

Today is Christmas and it is a white Christmas day. Snap some pics of decorated houses here in my city but it was too icy and cold to get out and try to take long exposures. Also saw too many accidents because of the icy roads, that is when we cut it short. Sorry for the poor IQ. It was windy and very cold. There were several houses with lights that were synchronized to Christmas music and ...

Skylighted Cafe HDR.jpg "Exposure Fusion" of a quiet place in a small Hotel in Bangkok. 4 exposures fused with layers masks. Could have been done with 3 exposures I guess.
