Please could you make exams that justify A and A* candidates? The module 1 and 3 papers yesterday were not remotely taxing for good students. I had pupils finish early in both and chucking to themselves. Many asked "Where were the harder questions?" or similar. If this is the way things are going we should start offering AS maths at the end of year 9

Hi > I have been perusing the GCSE ICT results stats of the various exam boards but I don't get how they award the % for each grade. For example AQA might have 11.5% A*, 25 % A, etc, but at D and E etc the % are in the 90's. Now I am not good at maths but even I can spot that they don't add up to 100% - So where is the "whole". What does this all mean?

I'm doing a level photography and wanna show some of my images for advice on how to improve, does anyone know whether I can do this on flickr or whether I will have to use 'outtakes' of the images. You know, images that I haven't included in my portfolio to be marked. Thanks x

I used Cara Flanagans link to look at numbers for WJEC ( http://www.folensblogs.com/psychcompanion/blog/ ). Numbers at A2 in 2008 were 61. As I entered 42 from my school alone I find this hard to believe. Did anyone else enter students for A2 in 2008?

Following a post on another thread led me to look at percentage passes across the board. The data makes very interesting reading in terms of which board is actually easiest and how people have changed specs. If you are interested email me and I'll send the table. cara.flanagan@btopenworld.com

Hi I am trying to find out which exam board moderated CSE English at Beaver Hill School in 1983? I have contacted AQA in Manchester but they have no record of my CSE in English!! I did English at Brook School in 1982 but had to resit at Beaver Hill in 1983. If anyone can help I will buy them a pint! Cheers Sal. (Brook School 1978-82 and then Beaver Hill Sixth Form to 1984)

First of all, this is a topic that covers more than just a new clinical board exam, as it concerns all dental students and the future of dental education/training. Hopefully it will not be moved just like any other board question(s). From ADA... I believe this has been a goal of the ADA and ASDA for years and nothing has come of it yet. Getting all of the states to jump on board is a daunting task. Too late for most of us, but hopefully it will come to fruition within the decade.

Re p1/#6 ~ The same female DJ on today's Lunchtime Jukebox (Gold 90 FM) mispronounced 'ty-rayd' (tirade) as 'tuh-rahd' - commenting on Sharon Osbourne's critique of Susan Boyle. Again, no self-questioning/reflection! Let alone professionalism in self-improvement. No wonder those listening to local speakers/programs GET MISLED/CONFUSED!
