This is what happened in my fantasy football league. I was down 15 points because my guys decided to be mediocre, and we both had one player left to play in our games. He had Tom Brady and I had Drew Brees. An Epic faceoff. and Brees decided to use his god powers monday night to pull of a win for me. He had 44 Points and Brady had like 5 or 6. Just felt like sharing this cause it's awesome....

Had it with epic fantasy I respect Mr. Martin and think he has done a great job on this series so far. However at this rate, I'll be pushing 70+ when the series is over, if I make it that far. AFfC came out in 05. Before that it was it was aSoS in 2000. That makesm it 9 years since I had a meaningful Jon, Tyrion or Danearys chapter. Unless i have missed it, there isn't even any ...

selling epic fantasy, or at least finding an agent to rep it Hey all, I'm pondering the market for epic fantasy. Basically, I wrote an epic fantasy for young adults. I didn't think it was such a weird book at the time. It is set in a world I made up, based on the ancient Mediterranean, and it has a lot of female characters; it ...

Joyce, that is a lovely, lovely description of Patricia McKillip's writing and I couldn't agree more. I haven't read The Forgotten Beasts of Eld since I was a kid, though... my favorite in recent years has been Ombria in Shadow, after reading that I actually had to sit there and make a list of images that I couldn't get out of my head.

I was making ham and beans (had to dig out the HUGE pot from WAY BACK in the corner of the cabinet) and, without even thinking, ate a little bite! It was a couple minutes before I even realized I'd eaten it! Oh, well. HP just arrived in the mail today!! It's the Half-Blood Prince, is that #6? I also canceled our subscription to the Blockbuster-by-mail plan - we've had it for several years...

And, on Doctor Who, I'm not sure that the younger Doctor will work or not. Apparently in the UK, Doctor Who's most loyal and vocal following are children and they are trying to appease that market. I am of the belief that a good Doctor is wise and sly and funny and vulnerable and very dangerous. Children get the silliness but don't understand the subtleties of the Doctor. We'll see.
