We're looking to implement Windows 7 in our environment, using roaming profiles and redirected folders. We're currently on XP clients with Server 2008 backend. Under XP we have a GP Preference which modifies %homedrive% and %homepath% to point to a mapped (also by GP Pref) network drive. This works as expected. Under Windows 7, %homedrive% and %homepath% remain as c:\ and Users\ respectively....

Hi there, I'm trying to get an plug-in to Powerpoint called TexPoint working so that I can use LaTeX formulas in Powerpoint (there are some characters that are not available in Microsoft Equation). For that I needed to install some software including Ghostcript and then add the path to the PATH environment variable. I have found out how to get there: type in "Accounts" in "Search" and click ...

In AIX, setuid enabled executables resets the environment variables like LIBPATH, etc. Is there a way to instruct the OS/application just to ignore the value of the variables rather than resetting the values to NULL like other UNIX platforms solaris & HPUX

Hi, I'm a little stuck with this problem on Windows 7. Our VBS logon script sets certain user level environment variables. On Windows XP and 2003 this works perfectly. On Windows 7, it does not. Details of the problem are posted in the Windows 7 forum here . I have had no luck getting a solution there so thought I'd try in here instead :) A quick overview of the problem is that when a user ...

Installing FC for Linux finished successfully. Using ./ifortvars.sh in my bash does work (no error message), but NO environment variables have been set. Therefore command ifort does not work. I set PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, .bashrc and the symblic link /usr/bin/ifort by hand now. For installing MPICH: FC=ifort and F90=ifort But MPICH can't find the Compiler. Which environment variables are ...

Hi, This is a strange one, I am wondering if anyone else has seen this? Our logon script sets certain user level environment variables. These are used in certain Start Menu shortcuts. One example of this is %SITE%. On the first Windows 7 logon, these do not work. If I examine the user environment variables from the UI, they are correct and present. However, if I use a shortcut that refers to ...

Hi, Based on my test, GPP-> Environment Variables would create new entries in the [HKCU\Environment] Subkey. I suggest you create your owner variable such as mv1=[Mapped Drive], mv2=[Users\%username%], and use these customized variables in command line. As a workaround, you may try to configure the following script as user logon script to configure environment variables: Set ...
