A question on a test said "List whether the follow are strong, weak, or non electrolytes," and one off the list was H2O, so I answered non electrolyte and got it wrong! I thought electrolytes were water and salt? So is water a strong or weak electrolyte??

On the Dr Oz show this week, a guest named Bob Harper suggested the following electrolyte mix to add to your water bottle. It certainly doesn't taste like Gatoraid, but is free of sugar or artificial sweeteners. 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda 2 Tblspn Agave Nectar (available at health food store) 1/2 Tblspn Sea Salt.

Hello,  Does anyone have a good recipe for a homemade electrolyte drink?  I found several different recipes on the internet but wondered if anyone else has done this before.  This search for a good electrolyte recipe came up because I saw Dr. Oz today saying to drink Sea Salt in water, but I might have missed something he said on the show. It ...

UroToday.com - Designer waters are popular in the 21st century and many stone patients ask if they can consume their fluid intake with these products, such as Gatorade. We, as clinicians managing these stone patients, can now be reassured that this fluid is equivalent to water in their daily fluid consumption. In this prospective, crossover study normal and hypercalcuric patients were placed...

I bought a new JD lawn and garden battery for my mower last spring, and while getting it ready for winter storage, I checked the electrolyte level, and 3 cells were below the top of the plates, so I added distilled water, and now the battery will not hold a charge. Can I add new electrolyte, give it a good charge, and see if this will bring the battery back to life. I really ...

Yes, they can be rejuvinated sometimes. Get some sulfuric acid from your parts store. Dump all the electrolyte out of your battery. Mix a solution of baking soda and water, adding enough soda so that some settles out after heavy stirring. First, rinse the the inside of the battery with distilled water two or three times. Next, draw settled water from the baking soda solution, no solids...

It was posted on the 'things that have helped' forum by Chaz. Apparently tested & now cured due to an electrolyte imbalance. Has anyone got any more information about this or has anyone been tested in the past & come back positive. Even if Chaz is still about, it would be nice to openly chat about your experiences in this forum.

Water is an amphoteric liquid, meaning it can function as either H+ (acid) or OH- (base). For that reason, I would think your teacher would call it a STRONG electrolyte, since it can act as both, and enhance or buffer, depending on what else is in solution.
