My son has just bought an Ex- Council house with the Gas and Electric meters in under stairs cupboards, The main Electric cable going into the the main fuse in the cupboard is leaking an Oily substance from it's outer sheath, ( made a right mess on the wall ) there Electric supplier at the moment is Southern Elaectric, is it at all dangerouse the way it is, will Southern Elactric sort it out ...

i doubt heat is included unless there is a common heat source and you do not control your own heat. water is usually included. other charges you mentioned are all I can think of related to the apartment.

I have seen some electric showers with with a condiut trunking running from ceiling to electric shower and the electric cable running in the same conduit. Is this OK. Both are in conduit away from plaster. But is there a building reg that says copper pipe not to touch electric cable.

I have just pulled the floor boards up (ceiling), to feed my rear speaker cables through, there's a few cables that will have to run over the the electric cables and some copper pipes and there's 1 that will run along side with the electric cable, (these electric cables are for the lights and plug sockets) The speaker cables are van damme blue studio 2 x 2.5mm which are I think insulated ...

Have just completed a Disco 300tdi transplant into a Disco 200tdi : Engine, gearbox, axels and need to keep the original speedo cable drive. (do not want to get into changing dash components) Can I pull out the electric sender drive and replace it with the original cable drive? Does it just pull out?

It's really somewhat shocking when you realize how much of your income is eaten by fees, fines, and interest payments. Keep a journal for 6 months listing every additional one of these charges and add it up. My students always find it shocking as well.
