The following map comes from the Eircom Website. It shows Mounthawk which is a suburb of the the county town Tralee out near Ardfert... Dromartin Cross is near Causeway which is 15 miles away from where it is depicted at the edge of Tralee. I figure this is whats taking Eircom sooooo long in enabling these exchanges for broadband ..they cant find them!

Hi All, moved into a second hand house that had eircom phonewatch alarm. Wireless sensors. The previous owners had stopped using the monitoring and therefore stopped using the alarm completely. We've used it as an unmonitored alarm for nearly 3yrs. One sensor on a window used to give false warnings, i opened the sensor to see if there was anything obvious wrong ( replaced battery too ), ...

I'm new in switching to Mac and just got me new iMac in the post yesterday. When setting up it asked for my eircom WEP key which I entered in but it wouldn't connect. Anyone know if there is anything I should be doing because I remember having this problem when a friend brought over his macbook once, it wouldn't connect to the eircom wireless when the password was put in?

Hi all, I am having trouble with a Dell Inspiron 545 and Eircom broadband. The problem is that the broadband is dropping intermitently and Eircom are saying that Dell's come with a built in firewall that causes this problem. Is this the case? Thanks

Just an FYI, for those with Eircom netopia routers. I'm sure this has been covered before, but of all the port triggering/forwarding walk through's this one is the simplest I've come across and I'm now NAT type 1, which shows up as NAT Type = open in the CODMW2 lobby (i presume it affects all online gaming not just COD), gets my stats much faster, into games much quicker and there seems to be ...

I have Eircom 3m Broadband with a netopia 2247 - 62Â router. My PS3 is wired to the router via a DSL cable. My kids have a netbook and a Wii which they connect to the router via wireless. Â I recently purchased a copy of MW2 and found out to my disappointment that my online play is severely effected because my NAT Type is Strict. Checked my connections and found out that I have Nat ...

The much hyped launch of Eircom shares sent the whole of Ireland running for their matresses to invest in shares for the first and last time...The sad thing is that ten years later they raided what was left to buy property.(I slept comfortably foolishly during that one)

I hope I'm in the right section. I've been with Eircom for years now and have never had any problems (well none that have bothered me too much anyway). Over the last couple of months I've been having huge problems connecting to Xbox live with them. It used to be that as soon as I tried to go onto Live it would happen straight away (or at worst the 3rd/4th time of trying). Now I could be...

Hi guys, I have to move in a new flat that already has an eircom phone line. I have the chance to get a broadband for free (through my company), but they can't cover phone and broadband, but only broadband. For this reason I can't keep my actual Smart Telecom broadband, because I was told that Smart Telecom can't split phone line and broadband (seems that eircom can, so they offered me an ...

Quote: The EU has approved an overhaul of telecoms law which has implications for Eircom's push to crack down on illegal downloading. Today, the European Parliament agreed a telecoms directive which includes a provision for 'internet freedom'. The provision forbids internet service providers (ISPs) like Eircom from disconnecting illegal filesharers. ...

I've decided to vote YES. Still not happy with the lack of communication from the ESOP Board but I feel that a YES vote is the best option moving forward....

Hi, I got a phone call from Vodafone saying my Broadband is active on my line but dont have the Connection light [DSL] on my BB. I have checked all phone sockets in the house and none of them are in use/have anything plugged in. Then it dawned on me, when we moved in, the previous owners had Eircom Phonewatch which is still 'connected' - when I saw connected I mean is recieveing power ...

Last Sunday evening my bb speeds (am with Smart) began to deteriorate seriously (for the first time ever, by the way) and finally the ordinary telephone service went as well. I contacted Smart in the early afternoon on Monday and they confirmed that there seemed to be a short on the line and that they would have to refer it to Eircom. 11 am on Tuesday morning and there's an Eircom guy ...
