Hi moms with other kids! :) I'm posting this here because this board is WAY more active than my other ones! I have a question for you about ear infections. I have a 2.5 year old, and he's had quite a few in the past. They seem to get worse in the winter time. He just got over one, and when we took him to the doctor's, she said that she'd prescribe antibiotics, but that the best thing you...

A friend of ours had tubes put in his DS's ears - he said that, until they went to the ped, he had no idea DS had been having chronic ear infections because he showed no signs. Has this happened to anyone else - finding out an infection but it didn't seem to bother LO? I ask because DD sometimes seems to smack her ears but I'm not sure if it would be because of a problem or because she's ...

Hello, I have received fabulous advice on here about my Bearded Dragons, so I have a lot of faith in using this site for a question about my sweet pooch as well. :+) I have a 3-year old black lab. She has hrecurrent really bad ear infections. Seems like she is always either getting, has, or has just gotten over an ear infection. I clean her ears at Least 1-2 times per week, more often ...

Hi My son is 18 mths old and in the past 5 weeks has had 2 ear infections and - for the past two weeks - has gone from runny poos (put down to teething) to terrible diarrhoea (foul smelly yellow liquid that leaks from his nappy). He has been to the GP 3 times in 5 weeks... given antibiotics twice (now stopped) and I now have to 'keep an eye on him' and bring him back on Friday if he's ...

I found out last Wednesday that I have a double ear infection and bronchitis. My Doctor was very specific about not being around the elderly and very young, which meant no Thanksgiving with family for us :( I did the 5 day abx but I'm still having ear pain and stuffiness, how long should I wait before I go back to the doctor?

So, I had been thinking about this previously, but the post about tubes makes me curious. Is there anyone out there doing something else to prevent ear infections? My husband and I really don't want Cec to get tubes, but we also don't want her in pain or end up with hearing issues. So, anyways, I am just curious! Thanks!

october baby!- As for my son his ear infections were caused by his ears not draining properly. He would catch a cold and then have an ear infection that wouldn't clear after antibiotics. Sometimes they would get better, we'd finish the antibiotic and about a week or two later were back with another infection. Sometimes we would go for a well visit and she would check his ears and there'd be ...

We would take my son to the doctor if he got a fever but I'm not sure every ear infection gave him a fever. My son is not a complainer so we didn't always know when he had one until the fever showed up. He had tons of ear infections and eventually we got tubes in his ear. That's the best move we could have done. It totally got rid of all the infections as long as they remained in place. It ...

The fluid can stay around in your ears for weeks after the infection clears. Though I have not treated an adult since medical school, I remember being taught that bronchitis does not require antibiotics unless you are a smoker. Likely a viral illness that will not respond to antibiotics. By the way, how do you propose that antibiotics "weaken" the...

As a puppy Molly began having yeasty ear issues...I was disappointed, because I had fought them for a long time with my golden - her's were an issue just because of the way her ears were shaped - at least according to the vet. With Molly, my vet recommended switching off of chicken (she was on Science Diet) to another protein source. Since then, she's not had any real issues.

Hi Andrea Sorry to hear your son has been poorly these last few weeks. I'm glad you have had some medical advice about this, as frequent diarrhoea is certainly something to be investigated. I'm wondering if your GP has mentioned the possibiltiy of toddler diarrhoea? Some children between the ages of 1 and 5 pass frequent, smelly, loose stools sometimes with mucus in. If he is otherwise ...
