Firstly I have to say what a useful little addition to the Exif data to appear in the 7D. Ok not earth shattering but interesting to be able to get an estimation of the distance between the camera and the main focus subject. However after limited testing with just one lens (24-105L) I'm seeing something a little strange and wondered if anyone else is seeing the same results or in fact if your ...

When I right click and look at the properties, my resized Jpegs don't have info! I need to update this via Exif data right? What's a good software to batch update Exif data?

Now that LR 2.6 reads EXIF Subject Distance into the catalogue, does anyone know how this information can be added for images that have been imported using previous versions of LR? Tony

Hey all, advice, if you have it! I'm noticed that since Nov 1, 2009, none of my EXIF data is accessible from the "more properties" link in Flickr; in fact, the "more properties" link does not appear at all. After asking Flickr for support, they suggested that LR2 is somehow stripping the files of this data. Sure enough, after uploading a .JPG straight from the camera, the "more ...

I have a few questions related to the EXIF data that are widely available on digital images nowadays: - When was the EXIF data first available for photography? I googled and found limited info. One site indicated that it was started in Japan in the late 1990s. Is this correct? - Had the photo images created by early digital cameras such as Sony MAVICA cameras in the late 1980s/early 1990s the ...

I had a previous computer with Windows 2000. When I right clicked on any web picture, one option in the pop up box was 'view exif data'. My new computer (with Windows 7) does not show this option when right clicking on such images. How can I resolve/recover this option? One thing that I found out while using DxO Optics Pro (trial) today that it saves the Subject distance in the EXIF, I have never seen Subject Distance being saved by either CS4 or Lightroom. I don't know how handy is this information after-the-fact; but I guess it might just help one in figuring out missed focus issues. Also, I *think* the Subject Distance is only available when using ...

Many camera's record their serial number in their EXIF information, it would be nice if we could search on that information. An avid Flickr user had his camera stolen a couple days ago (http://www.flickr.com/groups/censorshipsucks/disc uss/72157623054843688/), and it would be great if over the next couple months if he could search for his serial number to see if the thief (or ...

I have searched the help forum and can't find exactly what I'm looking for...Yes, I am a technotard so I will endure the tongue lashing I'm sure to get for posting the question in hopes of getting it answered. I'd like to know if names, specifically, can be searched from EXIF data. Either on Flickr or from a third party site. I like to show my EXIF data because I enjoy looking (and ...

My "more properties" link has gone missing as of the beginning of November 2009, it seems. I've no idea why. I'm still using the same programs and cameras, and I haven't hidden my EXIF data in the Flickr control panel. I'm also using "Save as" in PS CS3, just the same as I always have. Anyone have any ideas? Not really a big deal, but I noticed it when I uploaded a friend's ...

This is incorrect EXIF data parsing. It should be displayed as "Sprint HTC Hero". Anyway we can get a fix on this, and maybe get it to show in the Camera Finder under "HTC"?
