Several months back i had the engine light come on. Took it to the dealer who said i need a new EGR valve a new cat and new coil pack! I had him to just change the EGR valve. I am having a problem with my 96 neon sohc. My CX-7 has about 35k miles on it. The engine light came on and the dealer said the EGR valve needs to be replaced. It cost $900. Has anyone else had a problem with their EGR valve? (or how it gets damaged?) I took a look at the replaced part and it looks fine to me.

Wondering about the longer term effects of running a CEL Code 12 (faulty lift sensor), e.g. carbon build-up, etc... Is it even possible for my motor not to have one. I have checked diagrams. They all show it in the front of the manifold next to the radiator hose. Its not there on my motor. Is it located somewhere else? I have an 02 v6 2wd auto. I am trying to pass an emissions test. I am hoping replacing the egr valve will work. Thanks in advance.

alright i dnt know if this is the right place to post this thread but if anyone can help ide appreciate it... i bought a 98 s10 with a 99 s10 motor its a 2.2 4 banger 5 speed. here is whats wrong it wont pass smog because the 98's come with an EGR valve and the 99's dnt. i was told tht i can put an EGR valve on a 99 s10 motor tht they have a block off plate in the back of it i just need to know ...
Hi All, Where can I be found the EGR valve on the X25XE Calibra? Do the system same with Vectra V6? In the Vectra V6 the egr valve close to the inlet manifold, but in the Calibra X25XE I found only the secondary air valve which is located close to the front down pipe. Can anybody help to me? What I have to blank it? Thank you!

I noticed when I was taking my car apart that there was no vacuum line coming from the top of the EGR valve. I'm in the process of putting everything back together, and I don't know what's supposed to go from that valve...and where it's supposed to go TO... Anyone have any pics that might help out? I've been scouring the web but can't seem to locate any. Thanks!

I've got 3 questions. 1. I figured out the EGR questions. Thanks! 2. The valve cover hole...my original plenum just has a plastic plug here, but the newer one has a metal piece with a hole in it. Re: EGR Valve M.I.A? lol. yeah i meant 80 thousand. my bad. i'm pretty sure i got the wires right. I am thinking i might check those wires a little more in depth. Making sure they are all correct. Maybe redoing them and making the wire bigger. I just find it odd that it threw the same code after replacing the o2 sensors. just makes me believe i f'ed the wiring somewhere....
