It still hasn't sunk in that Bush's dystopian regime... It still hasn't sunk in that Bush's dystopian regime will be dismantled. Although I backed Clinton, I think Obama is *snap* fierce! Breathe. 10:57 AM Feb 20th, 2008 from web

Dystopian oligarchy sounds like a cool band name. Either way. There are various forms of 'capital'. Financial capital, political capital, social capital, etc which can be used for acquisition, protection and influence. And people tend to want to accumulate and keep whatever capital they have. Rich people like staying rich, powerful people like staying powerful, influential people like ...

I've been hearing good things about the HL Series especially HL 2 and ended up never playing it. HL is in a Dystopian setting and I love that type of entertainment. Am I missing out? Can I get HL 2 off the marketplace for MS points? I don't want to get The Orange Box. [Edited on 12.29.2009 9:34 AM PST]

I have always been a huge fan of any Dystopian/Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalytpic fiction, so I decided to do a poll to see what everyone's favorite Apocalyptic movie is (and yes, I know 2012 isn't out yet, but it looks awesome so I'd like it to be an option in case this poll is still around after it comes out )

This loosely has to do with Bioshock, but anyways I thought the story in this game is hands down the best of any video game of all time. I was wonderng if there are any books or movies or maybe even games that have a similar plot of a dystopian society. Thanks in advance. Don't blame the game, blame the player.

Thriller was an easy pick, but I'm happy to see that if the world goes to shit we might still have The Muppet Movie to get us through our dystopian future. Dog Day Afternoon , Dir. Sidney Lumet (1975) The Exiles , Dir. Kent MacKenzie (1961) Heroes All , Dir. Anthony Young (1920) Hot Dogs for Gauguin , Dir. Martin Brest (1972) The Incredible Shrinking Man , Dir. Jack Arnold (1957) Jezebel...

Anyone here read this book? It was the scariest book I have ever read; I wish I could un-read it. It deals with a dystopian future, taking place between 2025 and 2030. America is in a deep depression and life is a struggle for survival. And there is the reinstitution of feudalism and debt slavery. Nightmarish book.

This perfect day by Ira Levin is indeed a great book on this topic. It seems to me that it is less known than others, and it is not deserved IMO. Other books, targetted towards a younger audience but very enjoyable for adults are: - The Giver by Lois Lowry - Uglies and its sequels, by Scott Westerfeld.

A project I was writing a few bits and pieces of music for. The mix on the whole isn't really *core but some of it does get a bit harder. All the material used is my own of course. rough tracklist (I...
