Question about Dynamic Contrast ratio in LCD monitors

I want to buy a LCD monitor. I like the Samsung SM-T260 26'' but I haven't made my mind yet. I have seen a lot of LCD monitors (I still use a 19'' CRT) and the dynamic contrast is going, at some point, to annoy me. Is there a setting in the T260 and in other LCDs out there to disable it? In reviews, for a few monitors, I've read, this isn't mentioned...

How important are Dynamic Contrast Ratio numbers?

Hi, I'm looking at getting my first HDTV and I'm between the Samsung PN50B650 and the PN50B550. The only difference other than price is the B650 has a 3 million to 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and the B550 has 2 million to 1. I noticed in Cnet's picture setup for both tv's they had the Dynamic Contrast turned off. So how important is it?

How do i turn off Dynamic Contrast ratio ?

When i go into the menu options i don't see anywhere that allows you to " Shut off" the Dynamic Contrast. It just allows me to switch between others settings like "Game" "Internet" ext. but i don't see an off options here. If I'm setting it to "Game " Mode will that automatically shut off the Dynamic Contrast Mode or settings? Thanks and sry for Noob question...

There is no established standard for such measurements so manufacturers can pretty much do whatever they want and come up with absurdly large numbers. Its a marketing gimmick more than anything else.
