i don't really know what to call this effect, but i guess you could call it duotone... anyways, i want to know how to make an effect where only two colors are displayed. it's not a color isolation effect, it's hard to explain, so here's an example: watch from 0:08 to 0:14. basically, i want to replicate that effect. is there an easy way to do it in Vegas? .

Help me ID this process (duotone?) A friend showed me some BW prints of his, done in the mid to late 70s. They had a vaguely solarized look, and the image was laid down in very metallic shades of blue/red/brown. I have been advised that in the future one of my plugins may be required to detect duotone. Does anyone know of a way to check for duotone using the SDK?

Duotone version of today's sunset! This is not HDR. Just normal pix converted to duotone (black and orange) and set higher contrast for black color thru custom curve.

I have a b&w image which I have converted to duotone (using Image - Mode - Grayscale then Image - Mode - Duotone) but when I try and 'Save As' there is no option to save it as a JPEG. I own a duo tone. It appears identical except the duo tone has a standard guide rod. I also shoot it IDPA and carry it regulary and find no problems with the nickel finish on the frame.

How do I get this to work? I have tried importing the duotone as a PSD file, and quark can't import it I tried importing as and EPS or a PDF and it imports, but does not print separations? Once again... disappointment... Any solutions to this problem? We have quark 8.12 on a MAC, printing to a Ricoh C420 thanks david

Alright so for those of you who are familiar with Hughes and Kettner, you know of the Duotone, Triamp, and Sig Series triamp. All which glow in different colors (Red, Blue, Purple) I'm looking to see if there is a website that sells the exact lighting fixture as the ones carried in the Triamp. One of my purple lights seem to be broken, and I'd like to get that fixed asap Thanks.

Mathew, the Colorvir programme is/was quite complex. There are "Toners", "Special Effects" (including colouring solarizers), "Dyes" and "Polychromes" (the difference between the latter is not clear to me...)

kEPSItem does not have IDuotoneInfo interface, kImageItem has. If you create the graphic file as PSD, IDuotoneInfo can be got. When you use EPS, you can use IEPSTagTable interface of kEPSItem.

Why do you think it's not color isolation. Some of that is definitely achieved with color isolation. You could use the Secondary Color Corrector to do that. Other parts are duotone. You can achieve this by placing Red Solid Color Generated Media on a track above the video and set the track mode to Multiply (Mask).
