Problem description: Ive had this pc for around 2 years and its worked relativly fine with Vista 64bit. Recently ive reinstalled Vista for a clean slate but now have a problem. Say I have a x58 mother board and I buy three sets (6 dimms) of dual channel ddr3 memory do they become tripple channel or say if I bought 2 sets (4 dimms) of dual channel and put only three dimms in, will they become tripple channel?

What's important about this is that it's easier to get two modules to work together at a higher speed than it is to get three. For this reason we're seeing dual channel kits of memory offer us some serious speed and very quickly after the release of the P55 chipset. Since PC3-16000 is being offered by most performance memory manufacturers, it's time for companies to begin to mix it up even more....

Most memory sticks sets you can buy now have 3 sticks ,while ,for example LGA 1156 motherboards support dual-channel,which makes third stick useless . One more thing-how to OC your motherboard to support memory sticks with more Mhz

I think you are right because on the case it says that it designed for Intel core i7 ,not i5, Obviously for LGA 1366 . But since the Xmas shopping it was the best thing they got . Should I try to find matching memory with same SDRam latency -like 9-9-9-20 or it is does not matter?

agan2 mau nanya MBW itu menganut sistem dual chanell gak? kan ada 2 slot.. 1 slot maks ampe berapa GB? sekarang kan gw 2x1 GB, kalo gw ganti jadi 1+2 GB gimana, apa jadi ga efisien? walaupun jadi 3 GB.. trus apa bs kita ganti sendri ga sih hardisk ama memory (kayak di laptop biasa) makasi sebelumnya..
