Hello, I've been using iATKOS v7 for months now. I was dual booting Windows 7 and OSX. Today I installed a new hdd into my computer and suddenly I cannot boot into Windows 7. It boots into OSX autmatically. What can I do to fix this? The way it used to work before was that it would boot automatically into Windows 7 unless I chose the other partition to boot into OSX. When I choose ...

My only question is Windows is the primary partition, and Ubuntu is not. How do I remove Windows to make Ubuntu the primary one and Slackware the logical? Thanks EDIT: as long as I don't install LILO and run sudo update-grub, there shouldn't be any problem booting Slackware, right?

Hi guys! Would someone be so kind as to help me? I have an early 2006 Mac Pro in a recording studio running Snow Leopard used primarily for music production on Logic 9. Unfortunately, it seems like the mac can't keep up with the raw dsp processing power required by my mixes at the moment with constant audio drop outs/glitches and bitcrushing. I also own a custom built watercooled ...

This may sound as a treason but I would say it's not. Well let's get to the point. My dad may be able to get a free (for us) license of Windows 7 from his work. I already have a Windows Vista partition on my computer (and a Ubuntu 9.10 which is the one I use for everything except running the latest commercial PC game). I truly hate Vista after a long recored of crashes. So I want to install ...

I looked through the install FAQ's etc. I thought I saw someone ask about doing this at one point but, of course, I can't remember where. I have a computer with a single SATA drive which runs Ubuntu9.1 I would like to use it in a dual boot machine. Typically I'd install windows first and then add my second drive and install Ubuntu to the second drive. That's how I usually do it. I ...

Just install Seven on the partition where Vista is installed. GRUB will be removed from the MBR so you will have to reinstall it. The easiest way is to boot from a Ubuntu live CD , mount the HD containing the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file and do sudo grub-install --root-directory=mountPoin t /dev/sda where mountPoint is the point where the HD containing the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file is mounted.

Editing the boot menu with EasyBCD by NeoSmart Technologies should solve your problem, it provides a graphical front end to the BCDEdit Command line that makes it easy for you to define start-up settings and edit boot entries on the new Windows manager. http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

What are planning to do ? Move UBUNTU to the primary partition ? Or reinstall UBUNTU ? Moving UBUNTU without reinstalling UBUNTU means the you have to change the UUID in the menu.lst or GRUB,cfg depending with version of UBUNTU you're using Removing windows that is not the problem Why not Slackware in the primary partition instead of windows and installing LILO on sda1 instead of MBR. If ...
