I currently have a pentium 4 ht 3ghz processor and 3gb ram, I use my pc for web browsing, music, photo's, occassional photoshop, play the odd game now and again. I was thinking i probably would not need to invest in a dual core but what do you think?

Alright ill take your advice, i already have the F14 bios so im good there. I'll lower the voltage a bit that sounds like a plausable cause. I'll also checkout my memory voltage and timings. When i get home from work that is, i'll post back with an update.

I think for what you're using it for you'll be fine Maybe just start saving if you want as you can get an entire Core2Duo upgrade for little over £100 I think. Memory is dirt cheap at the moment and mobos aren't too expensive either.
