Hello, I have a need for more mounts than there exists drive letters. The network provider for nfs will not accept WNetAddConnectionX() without a drive letter. The mount utility is calling this API as well and simply will not work without a drive letter being specified. An interesting thing is that after a mount-...

I had a major problem when I upgraded to Win7 x64 but finally got it working but the result of fixing it cause my mesh folder to be moved from drive F to Drive D. Now, if I go to my profile/Mesh Folders and try to set my Sync's back up Mesh fails and tells me: Could not stop synchronizing folder with one or more devices in your mesh. Request to MOE failed with the status code: 404 Server ...

I thought that upgrading my laptop hard drive (for increased capacity) would be easy using software that would do a "drive copy" (I thought this was one reason such software existed). The software would not allow me to give the new drive "C:" only "E:". "D:" is the laptops CD/DVD reader/writer. How do I fix this???? 1 person needs an answer I do too

Scenario: Domain: Windows 2008 Level Clients: Win 7 only I am trying to specify a drive letter when a user plugs in an USB memory stick/HDD. We use (uwe-sieber) for XP machines on live network; but don't know whether it is supported by Win 7 and we don't want to go this route anyway. Basically users will not have access to local HDD at all. They will have their work saved on USB devices. ...

Okay so I'm helping a friend fix his computer which is partitioned for OS reformatting, he has all his data on one partition and has another partition to use for OS's. The problem I am facing is that the windows xp installer detects his "data" partition as "C:" so it is not installing successfully. How can I fix this? I went into G parted and found that the extra space was labeled sda5 so I went ...

Hi I am creating a wsi installer to install a microsoft .net application. When my installer runs i set the [INSTALLDIR] property to the Users/Public/ApplicationName and give the user the option to change this with a browse button. The problem i'm facing is that the installer seems to be picking the drive with the most free space on the target machines and not the drive the OS is...

I am now (trying) to run Internet Explorer 8 and get an error about DLA incompatibility will cause IE to crash. I am not very computer savvy and don't know how to fix the problem. Or what DLA is and if I need it. Right now it says that IE is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable, or remove your add-ons. Well things aren't loading and when I did go and ...

XP had a complete meltdown on me (for reasons as yet unknown). After several attempts I was able to restore XP (using IBM Recovery utility on a partitioned area of the HDD outside Windows environment). The restore function was supposed to return to factory state, but several quirks remain, such as the factory installed thinkpad utilities ( eg. wireless antenna control, network connection ...

It uses MountVol.exe to actually change the drive letter. The script just manages the process. It was written when a new PCs were delivered that had 4 SD type drive which pushed the use drives up to H: or I: which clashed with our ...
