For anyone moving into their new apartment in Boston and not wanting to spend a ton of money outfitting it, my girlfriend is moving out of her place and needs to sell her bed, dresser, and kitchen items. Everything is in really great shape. I am including the links to her craigslist listings. These are for local pick up only, in Somerville Mass or possibly Southern New Hampshire if really ...

I was at a yard sale that a super sweet older couple were hosting. I bought this dresser because it was marked $7, and some guy was haggling with the poor old man and only wanted to pay $5. I interrupted and said I would paid $7 for it, and the old man lit up, shot his arm in the air, and said "SOLD!" I only bought it because I didn't like how the cheapskate was trying to talk him down. I'll ...

I ran into a hairstylist once who didn't know henna was a plant. They don't know about henna because they're not trained to use it. Therefore I consider most of them not qualified to do anything color related to my hair.

Thanks, all! I'm glad I wasn't too off in thinking Art Deco. The plastic is translucent. When held to the light I can see the shadow of my finger. I don't think it's Bakelite although I haven't yet tested for that. I can usually do the smell test with that. Never thought about knots with the button hook. I have a couple pairs of shoes that are hopelessly knotted. Maybe I'll give it a try ...

I'd say it's the same, by the look of it. They sell in a few different outlets - Pattersons kitchens in Galway and Town and Country in Athleague, Co. Roscommon. BTW if you haven't been to Town and Country and like that kind of look - it is fabulous. Was there for the first time myself at the weekend...a day out.
