I am considering buying a corded Dremel. Price is not an issue, but power is, as in "most power" of course. The new 4000 has 1.5amps plus some kind of electronic slight of hand that adjusts the rpms to increased load. The 400XPR has a full 2amps (25% more than the 4000 by my reckoning), but they explode or something, which oddly does not bother me in the least, nor do I care that the 400's...

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and this is only my second post, I need some pointers, more like someone to explain the process of porting with a dremel, I have a dremel with an 24" flex extension, now I am wondering what bits i will need (cone sander, cylinder sander, grit numbers the works) And I think I'm supposed to use my gaskets to outline (guide if you will) where i want to grind ...

I recently picked up a Dremel Moto Shop Scroll Saw for $2.00 at a yard sale. This is an older unit with a place to attach a sanding wheel or a flexible shaft to the motor directly. This is obviously a cheap hobbyist tool but I thought it would be good to do some fun projects with my son. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of these. If so, should I expect to be able ...

I'm looking to pick up a dremel for myself for xmas and have a few questions about them. Is the Dremel 300 enough for basic bolt cutting, grinding out a downpipe, etc (basic automotive use) or do i need to step up to the Dremel 4000? Main reason is that for the price of the 4000 (~$140), i can get the 300 + a 150 piece acessory kit + a nice workstation that it clamps into Amazon.com: Dremel...

Great little tool. I've used it for tons of projects - in fact, this last Saturday I used it for 4 completely different projects. Saved me hours of work doing things that only a Dremel can do. Good condition. It's definitely been "loved", but it still works great! Make an offer! Read more...

Anyone interested in a cordless Dremel Duo? Includes a small cordless Dremel drill/driver, a cordless Dremel Stylus rotary tool, the charging stand, and some bits/accessories. Got it in a "buy two for this special price" deal and planned to give the other to my father, but it never happened. So I have and use one, and the other is sitting brand new, unopened, in my basement. Hoping to get ...

I have a server mobo that I rescued from a single-purpose box. Due to the nature of the box, the IO shield was manufactured into the chassis. I'm going to be putting the board into a different chassis and need an IO shield for it. I was planning on making my own. The manual for the board has a to-scale image of the IO shield, so I can blow it up and use it as a template. Anyone have ...

I have a few days off later this month and am thinking about taking a Dremel and sander to my MAK-90 thumbhole stock. The "blocky" grip is terrible and could stand some contouring. If you have done the same, I would appreciate pics to get some ideas. Long-term, I will probably put on a folding stock and upgrade with compliance parts. Thanks in advance.

I have been battling this exhaust leak at the header to downpipe flange. I just replaced the gasket there today with a brand spanking new ZZP LSJ gasket. I also cleaned and brushed off and lightly sanded with a dremel metal brush spinning thing so both flanges looked and felt brand new and smooth. I put the gasket on and just for good measure I put on a little bit of 700 degrees Fahrenheit copper...

I have an OPS-416 Piston for my M4. I also have a Midwest Industries 2 point mounted rail. I had to do some fancy Dremel Work under the handguard to make it fit. I wanna get a Free Floating rail, but I dont want to have to do more Dremel work. I dont like weakening the structure. Does anybody have any experience with the OPS 416? Does anybody know what will work with it as far as Free ...

So I had several micro-USB sitting around from monoprice (I ordered the wrong cables a year ago, and they happened to be micro... at $1 a pop I wasn't so concerned with sending them back) and after shaving the tops down a bit with a dremel (so I could still slide the kb open) I tried them out. I can charge with a wall-to-USB charging base or with the cable plugged into my PC, but I can't use them...

So I've seen reports of people modifying storm 1 cradles to fit the storm 2. I've got a couple of cradles, and I was wondering what you did to make it work. I've seem the take a dremel to it, but to which part. Are you shaving down the sides so the phone will slide all the way down, or are you modifying where the micro usb connector is so so it is slightly to the right of it current position....

Agreed Don, I got a couple of those carbide bits you recommended, love em. I don't really want the rotary tool for hogging, just smoothing background on reliefs where the gouge cant get.
