hopefully these pics will help someone else in need. After replacing the steering bracket, brace, and tierod assembly, i still had sloppy steering. i jacked up the front, and wiggled the passenger wheel and saw that the tie rod on the pitman arm was sloppy as can be. replacing the drag link assembly fixed the wiggle problem but havent had it on the road yet to test drive. What was supposed to be...

I am on my THIRD adjustable drag link failure. The first one was a Superlift. The second and third are Skyjacker. The tie rod end that connects to the pitman arm always fails. I have a 2" Skyjacker front spring lift installed with 235/85-16 stock sized tires and proper alignment done by a shop. I keep it greased and yet this is my third failure on the pitman arm end tie rod. There is a tremendous...

Just changing the drag link on my D1 was as I bent it offroad the other day, and the bloody thing won't come off. I've took the nuts off but the bolts refuse to leave the holes. I've took it off once before and it was a piece of piss. Reckon I should grind it in half and do it pull it down like that or does anyone have a sensible idea? Cheers!!

My cursory examination suggests they are essentially the same, with the relay rod just slightly longer. Given the price disparity of the parts, I was wondering if the relay rod shortened up a bit would work. Anybody got experience or a view??

Hey guys, Looking at replacing the balljoints in my 77 2WD F100. she wanders a bit in high winds and grooves in the road and my mechanic has said 2 ball joints are suspect. Looking at LMC trucks and other F100 parts manuals I can only assume that you have to replace the drag link, centre link and inner tie rod as a complete unit (not just the ball joints). Is this correct? The...

Bent my drag link today on my 200tdi (wish I had got a steering guard ), but for the new one, would it be worth sliding a piece of beefy steel tube over it? Anyone this before or got any other strengthening suggestions? Cheers!

After searching (great sticky on loose steering), I checked all the steering components on my 79 CJ7 (P/S) which wanders and I found that the tie rod attached to the pitman arm is loose. When watching it while someone else turns the steering wheel side to side, the pitman arm and the tapered stud of the tie rod move alot before the wheels turn (if the steering wheel is at 12 oclock centered then ...

Give Skyjacker a call and ask about their dropped pitman arm. That solves the geometry problem of the adjustable drag links on the W series Dodges. They also offer a heim joint option, but you have to ask for the details. One thing to check before you replace the pitman arm or waste money on another drag link is the bearing on the pitman shaft of the steering gear box itself. They get ...

A general rule of thumb is to aim for your trac bar and drag link to be running as close to parallel as possible. If you look head on at your front end and find that the raised trac bar bracket is creating a flatter trac bar angle in comparison to your drag link then my guess would be that relocating you trac bar back to its stock location on the axle end would remedy your problem. This may mean ...
