My trans just out of blue feels like it wont downshift or it stays in lockup. When i brake down to -10mph the car bucks and stalls, i have to use neutral to stop then put it into drive at a green light. I have a jmod(14 months) with a BOC tune(2 months), tans has plenty of fluid. I could only guess a bad solenoid, any ideas?

Hi, I have a 96 Ew300 with 169k miles. It has run very nicely, but I have noticed recently that its low on power. It also shifts up smoothly and doesn't slip, but it refuses to downshift, for instance, if I'm cruising along at 40mph and decide to accelerate, I can floor the accelerator and even that won't make it downshift from 4th to 3rd. If im just cruising along, slowing down, the transmission downshifts on its own as it should. But when it downshifts on its own, the whole car jerks pretty hard like its having a hard time downshifting. But if im driving and i push the gas harder to make it downshift, it doesnt jerk at all. So, i question whether its the synchro cause my second gear meshes just fine going in. The problem is when decelerating and going again, I tend to fall out of gear. So upshifting is smooth, no grinds and downshifting third to second is smooth but if coasting to a stop it falls out. Turbo 350 behind a 400 poncho, problem, when i downshift from 3rd to second it acts like it comes out of gear. But when you hit the throttle it revs up until it hits the rpm where it would start accelerating, and works fine, just seems like it wont stay in 2nd when i downshift. problem #2, i haven't tried this for a while cause its a bit scary, but when i put it into first, or L on the indicator...

I noticed the R8 can be had with the Audi "R-tronic" transmission. Where would you leave the shift when parking? I don't see a "P". A= drive R= reverse += upshift -= downshift Not sure what the position on top the R is.

Mine is stuck. I started having problems a little while ago where it would stick and i would have to pull it to finally downshift. once i pulled it would resist for a second then *click* and give so i could. Now its pretty much frozen and wont go down when i try. any ideas?

Just a quick question. Could the transmission start shifting faster because of cleaning the IACV? I mean, I could definitely tell a difference whether in Power mode or Comfort, in a good way, but when i tried to "get on it" and pass someone, the transmission wouldnt downshift into a lower gear .

Hallo, My V10 the last days, when I try to shift the gears in manual mode nothing happens!! The display remains as the automatic shift and I cannot downshift the gears. In the automatic mode is working perfect is the D-mode or S-mode If anyone have any idea please let my know. Many thanks

Sometimes when I downshift to slow down and let out on the clutch, the RPM's drop really fast and the car dies.. Sometimes it drops to like 500 then saves itself. Anyone know what this could be? 98 DOHC. Speed sensor doesn't work, could this have anything to do with it? When I unplugged it the problem started.. It used to be the car would bog down randomly when I got on it with the speed sensor ...

I`m still experiencing funky downshifting, SL1 2001 auto, 97K kms. Upshifts just fine throughout, however, while cruising at 50mph or so, while attempting to accelerate, it will downshift, hesitate, clunk and continue normally until I back off from the throttle.
