I am currently in my first year at a community college, taking a whole bunch of languages (Korean, Japanese and French) and am going to start taking some music classes next semester. Learning languages is a passion of mine, but music (voice or piano) is something I also wish to advance my studies in. I have a 4.0 GPA and I'm very set on transferring to UCLA. Would it be possible to ...

Quote: It's Friday at Florida International University, which means a few things for Sky Choi: physics lab, Calculus II -- and a trip to the game room. The only problem with this is it might set me back a year because although some courses overlap, it may require me to stay an extra year to get this double major degree. My question is, would my career opportunities increase because of the double major, and what kind...

I received notification that I was awarded an NROTC Scholarship on Wednesday, and I am assigned at Virginia Tech. I am just wondering if it is possible for me to double major while on scholarship. When I completed the application, I indicated that I would be a political science major. I want to keep my options open, and would like to double major in communications, if it is possible. If not, it's...

Faraday: I don't think it necessarily affected my employment opportunities overmuch. That being said, I have taken some advanced coursework in CS, done some CS research projects, and done some extra stuff as well. For CS, I don't think lacking a few advanced CS courses is going to be much trouble. Then again, I didn't double major for career opportunities. I wanted to do it one way or the...
