I want to install new weatherstrip on my door jambs and I'am not having the sucess i want from stick on type foam stripping or the metal strip with the vinyl bulb that screws into the the jamb. I would like to use the modern type stripping that new frames have which havs a grove cut into the stop on the jamb that this stripping fits into. HELP: weatherstripping - door jamb problem

My wooden entranceway door jambs have a kerf to accept the weatherstripping. But the kerf seems too large (1/4") and the weatherstripping doesn;t stay in place. I haven't seen any weaterstripping at HD or Lowe's that is made for such a large kerf. Is there a simple fix? A product? Thanks a heap, -Zz

On my driver side door the door jamb switch went out. Whenever i open the door it doesnt turn on the inside lights. I wanna order a new one its just i dont know how to replace it. the wire goes into the body. Does anyone know how to get it out and put a new one in. Thanks

I have a door jamb in my hallway, with no door in it. I want to remove the trim and door stop and just smooth it over and paint it to look like an entryway with no door jamb. How difficult is this and how would I do it?

after a hour or so of trying to get the trim off i finally got it disconnected and am getting a new switch from a parts car. it was toast i opened it up and the copper clip was bent and broken so i had to get another one. thanks guys for the help.

There are some plastic barb clips along the sides of the switch. I can be difficult to get the switch out without breaking the barbs. You can try getting a probe down along the edges while pulling it out, but typically at least one of the barbs breaks on me.
