I have a Panasonic blu-ray player connected to a Panasonic SC-PT470 all in one home cinema system via an optical connection. If I select the Dolby True HD audio option on a blu-ray disc menu will my panny all in one be outputting exactly the same audio as it would if I selected the normal DD5.1 option or is it different?

I recently found out that when Im watching Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs through my PS3 and Xbox 360 my A/V Receiver is not decoding the Dolby Digital True-HD & DTS-HD tracks properly, instead its only pushing them out as regular Dolby Digital and DTS. @ Iskawesit ich kann dich voll und ganz verstehen, bin bei mir im Wohnzimmer auch mit einen Onkyo 706 und einen Infinity Beta set gut unterwegs! denke auch schon die ganze zeit über nen Tausch meiner Ps3 60GB nach, aber über das thema könnte man sich hier stunden lang streiten:) mir wär auch DTS Master HD über Bitstream lieber:) hab auch so ein gefühl das es besser klingt wie über LPCM!

The audio output format is controlled by the player and the disc, not the receiver. What player do you have? How is it connected? What are the player audio settings? Have you selected a lossless track on the disc? But, one part of your post doesn't seem possible. Regardless of the player and its settings, you will never see Dolby Digital on a receiver when playing a DTS track. Some ...
