Fellow dogsled owning, igloo building eskimos up north - Happy Thanksgiving, Canada! As CM Punk would say - "Thanksgiving in October means - we're better than you!" Now go binge on turkey before getting the fire ready, the dogs are getting restless!...

> Santa is going to arrive by dogteam to a children's party in our small town of Stockholm, Maine. The American Legion asked us if we would use our team to make it happen. We are very happy to do this for the kids and think it is great publicity for the sport. We are not on snow yet- we do have an ATV without a motor- In early training the Legion parking lot is the...

We would like to do either a reindeer or dog sled ride but we don't want to use transfers - we prefer to drive ourselves. Is this feasible? Could we get to the areas with our own car where the dog/reindeer sledding take place even on snowy roads? Any idea also how to do the bay two hour cruise. Again can you drive and park nearby? ...

Check this out. I was at a meeting yesterday and a friend I hadn't seen in a while mentioned this race. Apparently, runners, bikers and skiers race the same course as the sled dog race. The trail is groomed and packed down, but its done a week before the race. Of course, in Alaska, storms can come in and dump snow on the course at any time, forcing the bikers to carry their gear laden bikes for ...

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader.... I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled.... and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada, although I'm certain they're really really nice. I have a Prime Minister, not a president. I speak English and French, not American. And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'. I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe ...

The wheel of love had left its tread marks in his chest once too often, like a knobby mud tire on a monster truck, or like a really big ponce wheel, the kind that tailors use to punch little holes in patterns and that would leave lots of nasty little welts if you were to run it up and down your arm. (Peter Loughlin) I saw her sitting at the bar. I approached. "Hello," she said in a voice so...

I live in Canada. I eat Poutine, live in an Igloo and ride my dogsled to work, where I chip on an iceberg all day, just because there really isn't that much more to do. Don't judge me, ya hoser! :P
Show your patriotism for your Country! Dan, shhhhh. Andrew, a little known fact is that Denver marks the midway point of the iditarod. Lucky for the mushers, though, that the white hating thugs are afraid of the huskies and malamutes. I can't remember a single case of anti-dogsled violence in Denver. not a one, and that's saying something, being the war zone that Denver is known as.

I don't think I've camped below zero and probably not the single digits. Not having a thermometer, I'm not sure when of many cold nights over the years was the coldest but it was probably camping in a Algonquin wigwam in Quebec while on a dogsled trip in January '07.
