I don't know how that is possible with a stock dividend, especially a private issue that has an unknown value. I do know that I have seen big pops before major dividends, as shorts cover to avoid paying dividends. I am not sure how this would affect naked shorts? Does anyone know? Do they have ...

WHO CARES ABOUT OUTSTANDING DIVIDENDS? Maybe those to whom they were promised? Seems to go to credibility, wouldn't you agree? If they couldn't follow through with their promises in the past, what makes anyone believe they'll do it this time?

Well - I have been drawn and quartered about my post on KMR stock dividends, but thanks guys, I learned something I did not know. So KMR stock dividends are not taxed at time of distribution, but do reduce per share basis. Somebody suggested I go to KMP/KMR web page and look up the tax status. All I could find there were some presentation slides, and that is what they say. Also stated that "...

I have recently changed from self employed to paye, I now get one wage slip which appears pretty normal and with a tax deduction. But is only part of my salary. The remainder of my wage is paid in dividends by an Irish based company, no tax is paid on this one. Can anyone tell me how much % tax I should pay against this dividend, so I can set aside money for my next self assesment. ...

Hi all, I'm new to Motley Fool and brand new to the boards - this is my first post. Apologies in advance if my question has been posed before. I recently opened an account with HSBC InvestDirect. I have invested so far in 4 companies, one of which returns a dividend. My questions are: Will that dividend be deposited into my account ? Is there a way to request that the dividend be ...

I was under the impression that these funds would pay a dividend which would then be reinvested to buy more units. After speaking with the pension advisor I was told that this would not the case. The funds are: ...
