I am considering filing a chapter 13 (would be me only not my husband). I have about 40K in credit card debt and a subrpime loan (my home cost 282K). I've just fallen behind for the first time on my MTG loan (been paying for almost 3 years now). My housing costs with HOAs and escrow total 3K a month and while my husband and I have good salaries, we struggle to make this payment every month. We ...

Perhaps the narrative should be that getting more disposable income into the hands of the middle and lower income classes is good for the economy and net positive for the rich who produce all the junk we buy??? What the rich lose in paying higher taxes is offset by increased volume spending from the rest of us? This, btw, is the essence of redistribution of wealth. Dems just don't ...

Ah, college students. Move-in week always brings interesting stories of illogical people with ridiculous amounts of disposable income from their parents. This week has brought some crazy stories, some I felt I had to share. Take, for example, the three college guys that decided it would be awesome to have a 52" plasma in their dorm room. These guys pooled their startup money together and ...

So sayeth OpenSecrets.org : During World War II, soldiers crouching in foxholes penned letters assuring their sweethearts that they'd be home soon. Now, between firefights in the Iraqi desert, some infantrymen have been sending a different kind of mail stateside: two or three hundred dollars -- or whatever they can spare -- towards a presidential election that could very ...

Hi all Husband and I had our telephone interviews yesterday. Went though the figures and we had just over £600 disposable income (just given house up and moved into rental). He said they would want 70% as being over the £600 band the sliding scale puts us into this band. Does this mean that if the disposable income is below £600 they will only want 50%? Can you dispute the income ...
