Can someone give me DETAILED instructions on how to...Can someone give me DETAILED instructions on how to perform a Disk Cleanup? I keep following the instructions, but each time I keep getting a message saying my Recovery File is nearly full. Windows Vista.

If I schedule Disk Cleanup to run as a task and add the argument: /sagerun will this also "clean up system files" as well? Or do I have to provide a script to press the "clean up system files" button? 1 person needs an answer I do too

I recently ran Windows 7 Disk Cleanup and it found a ton of Windows files from updates (hidden folders in root) etc.. Ensure CCleaner finds all these etc..

I cannot permanently remove the checkmark next to "Thumbnails" in the Disk Cleanup utility. I've tried SAGESET to no avail. I would appreciate any help forthcoming.

I was not suggesting you do this on the recovery partition - Mr. Murphy already told you not to touch that partition and I assume you got that message. I was giving you instructions on how to do the process on your C:\ drive since you seem interested in the performance of your system. I have revised the earlier post to be more clear on this point. If your RAM is less than 512MB, upgrade it. Limit the programs loading in the background. I don't see why you can't do a disk cleanup though. If it's so much of a problem, then I'd suggest to reformat and reinstall your operating system then. Of course, we'd need more info before we can answer this properly. Operating System and Version, RAM, ...
