I've read somewhere that the 05 and 06 differentials have different part numbers from the 04? Is this indeed true, if so does anyone know what the changes were?

Hi, Is it possible to use differential backups with Synthentic Backups instead of Incrementals? If so, can I overwrite all differentials except the last one and still get a successful Synthetic Backup? And is it possible to synthetically generate *Differential* backups from a set of Incremental backups? ie. some kind of cumulative incremental? I want to know whether it is ...

I would like to change out the differentials on my 2001 Dodge 1500. The stock ratio is 3.55 to 1 and with 35 inch tires on the truck the overall ratio is about 3.05 to 1. This sucks. I have never done any differential work but I would like to learn how to do it myself so I am going to give it a try. If you want to flame the crap out of me for trying save it because I am not interested. ...

I just called a local transmission garage, asking for a quote on changing some fluids on my 2002 GC. I was quoted as follows: 129.95 For Transmission Flush (179.95 with filter Change) 89.95 For Differential. They said there were 2 differentials? Can they be correct? 69.95 Transfer Case. What do you think? AJ

I'm sure this has been discussed before , but I don't see search for subjects. My 98 A4 1.8 ti has a thump at high speeds 70 + with on off throttle. Being I am new to these cars.... do they wear drive shaft differentials ? It sure feels like that's what is happening here. Thanks, Pete

I probably should have posted this here first, but I didn't ( shame on me huh?) I have a 2001 Jeep wrangler, 2.5 engine Auto transmission a Dana 30 175mm differential in front and a Dana 35 188mm differential in the rear both have 3.73:1 gears, don't know what spline size though. the other day during the Nor Easter I went in the field to try to see where the broken power line is at and the ...

Lots of discussion in other threads. Here is how it is described in the service manual: "Split-friction surfaces (where one wheel has grip and the other side of the vehicle is on a low-friction surface) or where a wheel is suspended off the ground and spins in the air are common off-road situations. An open differential by nature directs torque to the wheel that has the least amount of grip...

1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data The period T of a simple pendulum with small oscillations is calculated from the formula T = 2pie (L / g)^1/2 . Suppose that measurements of L and g have errors of at most 0.5% and 0.1% respectively. Use differentials to approximate the maximum percentage error in the calculated value of T. 3...

I am in need of some info, i just bought what i was told was a 1 ton front and rear axle and was told it was a 14 bolt and a Dana 60. my question is this, i already have a 14 bolt floater in my truck already, but this one has a 6 bolt pinion support on it. the front axle also seems to be different from a 60. knuckles look bigger and ujoints are real beefy. i was told it might be a Dana 80 and a ...

BC +10.5 over Montreal I had this game at Montreal -4 to -9. A pointspread of 10 is a relatively key number in the CFL - ranking behind "3" and tied with "1" with 5 occurances this season. There have been no 11-point differentials this year. The 10.5 is a good number here IMO Hard to get a read on Montreal as their last 4 games were meaningless and they faced Winnipeg and Toronto in ...

I have a 2005 WRX and just yesterday i noticed that when in first and second gear with the petal to the metal the front tires just spin and there is no traction "Like a FWD vehicle". Im not sure how the AWD drive works with the differentials, but is it possible for the rear wheels to just not be getting power anymore? Im running stage 2 with Cobb AP
