These are the first pictures of Mini's new range of more powerful diesels testing. On sale next year, the range will encopass the Cooper and Clubman and will initially go on sale with a Mini hatch equipped with the engine from a BMW 120d. See the Mini Cooper and Clubman diesel spy pictures The spy pictures clearly show the Cooper version carrying centre mounted twin exhausts, a... Read the...

Moving forward do you think the diesel E's will hold their value better than the gas engine models? Also I don't see a diesel E Class for 2010 that should bode well for the value of earlier diesels, don't you think?

My father is looking for a used diesel (e.g. Passat ) and is considering buying up North . I have read that diesels from the North should be avoided as diesel fraud is widespread there ( laundered fuel ) and as a result engines suffer damage and excessive wear. My question : Is this a genuine risk or is it just 'propaganda' put about by Southern car dealers to discourage buyers from going north ...

I know that heavy duty trucks are always the exception to every rule in the auto industry... EPA mileage estimates; not required... 0% financing; excluding heavy duty... lifetime warranty; excluding diesels... But what about this? http://www.businessweek.com/autos/au...s_quali_2.h tml or http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/17/f...cording-to- fo/ Ford has recently topped several ...

Hey everyone, To start off, I've picked up a 1988 F250 extended cab with the 7.3 and 132k. The PO has had a Banks Turbo installed as well. It is 2wd and I'm unsure if it has a C6 or E4OD and I have no idea how to tell. I've done a lot of research on the internet and either I'm overwhelmed with information or dense. So, I have a few questions. 1) I've been getting a lot of conflicting ...

I have my eye on a 04 F250 6 litre. I have read the horror strories about the engine. Also I don't absolutly need a diesel, but really like the truck and love diesels. I do haul a boat around soemtimes and just want a strong truck that is reliable. Should I buy this truck or steer clear of the 6 litre diesels all together.

Gday all, just wondering if you know of any good & reliable diesel centres in the Sydney area. I suspect that my 2.8 has done a head and I would (naturally) like to get it looked at by someone who knows diesels. I thought of "gemini diesel" and "Nepean Diesel" though Penrith is a bit far out. Berrmia Diesel would be good but too far away for this sort of job. Any other suggestions? ...

I bought my 2000 Sportage 2 years ago at 110,000 Kms (70,000 Miles) and it is now on 150,000 Kms. I was told you only need to change the spark plugs every 100,000 Kms which was news for somebody who has had Diesels for the last 20 years. Looking at the modern 2 litre Dbl O/head Cam engine it looks like a major exercise. Any tips or hints from experienced people would be appreciated, probably by ...

Basically, i bought a manual 89 model surf without an engine. The engine harness was sitting in the bay, but far from decent condition. As i am not familiar with diesels at all, i am requesting assistance from a fellow owner in Sydney with a mechanical 2LT surf for comparison. I have a 5L mechanical with a Denco turbo kit installed sitting in the bay mated to the trans.... and that's where...

Also posted on Dodge Talk Ok, So my "search" function showed no results so here goes. Has anyone used "Prist" in thier Turbo Diesels? I use it all the time in jet engines. Its primary function in jet fuel is to prevent fuel from freezing at high altitudes AND it prevents algae from growing in the fuel. As my truck will be used infrequently I would like any input that addresses...
