I have an Intel i7 CPU, running Windows 7 Pro and the system does not recognize or list the 4 in 1 internal card reader attached to the Motherboard via a USB2 cable. The USB2 Port in the 4 in 1 adapter works fine ... but the device has no reaction when i insert a Compact Flash or SD Card .... nor is the Card Reader listed on the Device Manager Tree as a WPD or under the Universal Serial Bus ...

I have an external 1TB HDD that I bought several months ago. Now, all of a sudden, my computer is no longer reading it as a drive. In device manager, it still reads it as a USB mass storage device, but it will not show up in "My Computer" or the command prompt under either Windows XP or Windows 7. I tried running TestDisk , but my HDD in question does not appear on the menu. ...

I have a HP/Compaq Presario V6200CTO laptop that has an internal wifi card. The wifi worked perfectly until about a week ago when Windows 7 stopped recognizing the card altogether. I first thouhgt it was a hardware problem and that the card had just died and so I purchased a USB adapter, but before the adapter arrived I had need to boot into safe mode w/networking (I was using a friend's Linksys...

Hi, I have a laptop with Vista Business x64 which in principle not a hassle. I have all the drivers installed and updated, but when I go to device manager, the OS is obstinate in denying this claim, since in the section "Other devices" shows me a yellow icon with an exclamation the text "Unknown System Based Device" . Does anyone could give me an idea / suggestion / trick on this?...

I have a two-fold problem actually. I am trying to perform a clean install of Vista. Vista is already on my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S5092 and I figured I would just boot from disk and go from there. The laptop will not boot from CD, even though the CD works fine after Vista drivers are installed. So I then try to install from Vista. Even the windows explorer sees my ...

...It initially didn't show up in 'Computer' (or My Computer). Device manager said its working properly. I put the Vista Disc in (had to get a pirate one from someone because my disc drive won't read the official one all of a sudden) and tried to install Vista on this one as a way of forcing it to show, only to get an error code 0x8007000cl. I then split the new 1.5 tb drive into 98 gb and about...

*Bootmgr. is missing now. But my legal disc works again. Vista Repair says theres no problem, but the computer wont boot without the disc inside. If I want to reinstall vista without losing data, should I 'Vista Upgrade' or just reinstall? I'm hearing conflicting things.* -------------------------------------------------- ---- Diagnostic tool developed for www.tombraiderforums....

I'm going to be helping a friend switch from his 83xx to 9700. He basically just uses his BB for company's email through BES. I checked the help screens in Desktop Manager 5.0.1 it looks like the Device Switch Wizard will handle the job, but I wanted to get some specifics from the community. I believe he is using Desktop Manger 4.7 for his 83xx. Should I install 5.0.1 before ...

But the integrated mobo NIC (network card) works. The problem is I'm changing the motherboard so I need a working PCI NIC for internet. The PCI NIC won't light and you can't use it but it is detected in device manager. I use a wired router. Any suggestions before I buy a new NIC?

@ladysheila--MS tech support told me Teredo is an "inbuilt" driver. Did you try scanning for hardware changes? If not, perhaps you can use System Restore or Windows Backup to restore to a time to before you deleted Teredo. That's what I did when I did that by mistake, and also how I know that the problem (at least on my system) wasn't ZoneAlarm, because I reverted back, to a time before ZA was ...

There's a few ways, here's a couple. Press the windows Key + Pause/Break key together. Select the Hardware Tab in the System Properties window that appears, click the Device Manager button. Alternatively Start->Run type Devmgmt.msc and click OK Don't mess about with anything unless you're sure what you're doing though.
