LAX-NRT-HKG Economy class. LAX-NRT old 747, no PTV , tired crew, but still above average service in regards to their US competition. Food was ok, just not much of it. NRT-HKG on new A330-300, was great, PTV, very pleasant cabin, mix of local and US crew, very efficient, the airplanes are completely different league - good entertainment, mood lighting, seats, and good cabin crew. DL is ...

Delta is much better outside the US. The last leg of my flight from NRT to BKK in coach was superior to my leg from ATL-NRT. The chief reason is that the flight crew from NRT-BKK was Thai and much friendlier and more accommodating on a full flight than the US based ATL-NRT flight crew. The Thai flight crew was courteous, pleasant, came through the cabin on regular intervals with water and ...

JFK-VCE, MXP-JFK. JFK remains an unattractive operation with various inconveniences. Lounge adequate. Outbound service onboard above average except for a few oversights (no breakfast offered to me). Food good. Return to JFK similar inflight experience. Cabin crew professional but no warmth exhibited. More conversation with their friends on board. Kept last row empty in Business Class for ...

NYC to ROC. Delta check-in area at JFK was chaotic, with long queues. I tried an automatic check-in terminal but it wouldn't accept my e-ticket data - most terminals were idle so maybe I wasn't the only one with a problem. After waiting in line for half an hour it became apparent that I was in the wrong queue - I needed to join a different line-up for people without boarding passes. There...

My wife and I flew Delta from Miami to JFK. We were to have a connecting flight to Dublin, Ireland also with Delta, with a 48 min stopover. After "pull-back" at Miami, the plane returned to the terminal building to pick up two additional passengers. Following the second "pull-back", the back-up generator failed to kick-start the engines and we returned once again to terminal building for ...

LGA-MDW-LGA on Delta's Shuttle America partner on an Embraer 175. Pleasant outbound flight with good service and a seat more comfortable than most US first-class seats on larger planes. Pre-takeoff mimosas and a decent lunch. Return flight more crowded, but still good inflight service. Chicago Midway is a quieter, closer-to-downtown and Southside alternative to ORD.

I have recently heard some interesting news about Delta that they will be installing on-demand video with live satellite television on all of their aircraft except the MD-88s and DC-9-50s (and any aircraft that Delta intends on eliminating). Unfortunately, the Albuquerque Sunport mostly gets MD-88s on the ABQ-ATL route for most of the year, although we do get some 757s from March-August and ...

Hello, I'm new to this site, but I found this thread to be fascinating as I'm a Platinum (Diamond as soon as that level is launched next year) Delta flyer out of ABQ. I figured I'd share a couple of facts that may not have been necessarily mentioned in this thread. 1) Just because a plane goes out full does not mean that route is highly profitable. You can have a route that has high ...
