I tried: 1) using cast in the oracle query 2) Create the column before filling the query to datatype Int32

For example: .000123 should equal .0001; .00003 should equal .00003; .153 should equal .2; 2.347 should equal 2 I have searched the "rounding" Posts and have not found the answer. Can someone help?

mario.m7 writes "Poste Italiane, the Italian postal service, suffered yesterday from an abnormal computation in ATM and credit card operations, since the decimal comma was not taken into account. The whole sum was therefore multiplied by 100, resulting in a 115,00 Euro transaction being debited as 11.500 Euro! Thousands of accounts are deep in the red and locked (link pumped through translator), ...

I'm pretty new to SQL and am a little confused as to which field type I should use to store my 'currency' type data. What's the main difference between these two data types and which would best fit the purpose? I want to store signed numerical data with up to 6 decimal places. Thanks in advance for any help....

I had already posted this to tools-compilers@opensolaris.org, since both the compilers and the OS are involved, unfortunately to no avail. Instead, it was suggested I might have better success here, so here we go: While working to improve GCC support for Solaris, the question turned up what it would take to support decimal floating point (now ISO/IEC TR 24732:2009): see the thread ...

I've done this before using macros, but it's a pain in the neck. What I really need is to do this using a formula if at all possible, so I can create charts of the results. I'm going to have columns of results, all of which will have digits to the right of decimal. I need to loose any and all digits to left of the decimals, but will be showing the results in ...

Hi people, Basically users have to enter the number of hours and minutes that someone has been present that day in decimal form. This is done from a computer print out and comes as said in hours and minutes which then requires the inputter to use a calculator to calculate those minutes as part of an hour. For example: 7 hours and 24 minutes = 7.4 hours since 24 minutes is .4 of an hour. ...

Which of these two records is better? 13-10-1 13-9-2 I honestly don't know. We play doubleheaders weekly. ps - save the "decimal scoring" comments. My first year in the league - last second type thing. I'll get the decimal thing instituted for next year if I stay in it. This post has been edited by Cunning Runt : Today, 5:37 PM

Wondering the best one to use. I was thinking about doing a decimal 10.5, 1.10, it doesnt matter. Im just separating two values but want to save time by retrieving one row. 1,5 = level 1, 50 percent 4,9 = level 4, 90 percent etc.. Thats all im doing, should I just use VARCHAR? BTW, these are all staying under 9, so the max is 9,9
