I've been using Debian Etch on HP ProLiant ML115 G5 server whose USB controller is OHCI. The Debian Etch recognizes USB-CD/DVD and USB-HDD and they are mounted automatically. However, hte Debain Etch doesn't recognize USB-FDD and it is not mounted automatically. How can I solve this problem?

I have connected a Huawei E1612 and I am not sure if it can work with Debian Etch (I could configure the "old" modem Huawei E172 in Debian Etch, but not the modem E1612). Help!! I'm a debian server admin who is preparing to upgrade from etch to Lenny and was told I should upgrade from Etch from last August to the final release of Etch from May '09 first. So, I made a full boot drive backup with dd. Then I ran the "mock upgrade" using aptitude first and everything went well. Then I ran the real upgrade (128 pacakges were upgraded) and everything seemed to go ...
