I'm real proud, yesterday I pulled 495 deadlift!! Straps/belt. 5 weeks ago I lifted one rep max of 425 in a competition setting. I've been training hard and bulking, and I think it's incredible I improved that much! DL is prob my strongest lift. I hit 480 and my form was smooth. i started training seriously 6 months ago using rippetoes and since then have increased my bench from 25# dumbbells to 100# dumbbells and my squat from 135 to 365, but my deadlift only from 135 to 295. I'm really considering not doing standard deadlifts very often. Im pretty happy with myself tonight just set two new personal records. Curled 110 bar 3 times and deadlift 365 once. After the deadlift i got really dizzy think i passed out for a sec but im alright. Just thought id share since im pretty happy about it =)

I do. It sucks. I want to do deadlift variations every time I go. I think I might have a problem. I also think I need to work harder. Lyzabeth, I've been told by gym partners that deadlift is not as suitable for me as it will increase the levels of testosterone in women's body. And they said many women don't do deadlift. I am wondering if I should even be doing it as I don't really see you doing deadlift. I do stiff leg deadlift too.

After every deadlift training, my lower back, particularly the spine is always sore. Im not sore anywhere else, just when i bend down or curve the lower spine. Is this normal? Thanks

I was wondering what the DL:S ratio of other people was? I'm currently doing 3x5x95kg for squats and 3x5x112.5kg deadlift. So my ratio is 1.184:1 My ratio seems a bit irregular compared to what others are lifting. I'm just curious here.

I'm thinking of getting a barbell just for deadlifts so I can do them at home and don't need any safety equipment like I do with the squat. But I'm not sure what kind of weight I could lift and how long it would last until I reached the limit. I can get cheap spinlock barbells at around 50kg and add my dumbbell plates of 30kg to it to get 80kg, or spend quadruple the price for less than ...

My lower back is sore, and I believe that the DL is the problem. The Sumo DL works better for me than the regular DL, and when I go back to working out, I think I'll switch back to the Sumo DL. I have been doing the regular DL, but have always preferred the Sumo.
